A necromancer is illegally resurrecting Undeads, and they are losing their sanity after going too long without maintenance. The necromancy specialists are called in to help with the case. Here are the latest updates.

2. Episode 5 Speculation
Phanora is distressed about Johan’s injury and gives in to the necromancer’s demands. Seargent Jeff accompanies her inside, disturbed by what happened with his fiancé.
Without Johan, Phanora seems to be in danger, as Jeff’s guns can only do so much. Phanora is a necromancer and part of the Order, so she must be trained enough to protect herself.
We will find out about the necromancer’s identity as well as his motives in the next episode. Meanwhile, Guideau and Ashaf are most probably continuing their witch hunt. After the case of the necromancer wraps up, we might see them again soon.
3. Recap of episode 4
An Undead was running around after losing his mind as he went too long without maintenance. Guideau quickly subdues him, and Ashaf inquires about the matter with the police.
Such Undeads have recently increased drastically, and the Order of Magical Resonance calls in the necromantic specialist to help. Necromancer Phanora and her right-hand man Johan meet up with the police.
The Undead can only get maintenance from their own necromancer, but they fail to turn up. The six Undeads in custody have been resurrected illegally, and there are no records of their necromancer.
Illegally resurrected Undeads, called Strays, are unaware of the consequences, so the Order needs to take care of them quickly. A necromancer is going around offering to resurrect people’s loved ones.
Phanora lures in Strays, and Johan and the police officers are surprised at the number of Strays present. Phanora asks Johan to handle all the strays while she observes them and demands more information.
Phanora suspects the necromancer is resurrecting the Undead for personal uses. One of the officers notices the abundance of redheads in the Strays. One of the Undeads attacks Phanora, and she wonders if they are being watched.
The group follows the Strays’ footsteps and finds a mansion. Johan gets attacked by a giant Undead, and a Manual Undead, entirely under the necromancer’s control, welcomes them inside.
The necromancer presents Seargent Jeff’s fiancé, now turned Undead, and he is appalled. The giant Undead slits Johan’s throat, finally eliciting a response from Phanora. Phanora and Jeff go inside as demanded.

The Witch and the Beast (Majo to Yajū) is a dark fantasy manga series by Kousuke Satake. It started serialization in Young Magazine in November 2016, moved to Monthly Young Magazine in May 2021, and also has an anime adaptation under production.
