2. Episode 2 Speculation:
Guideau and Ashaf have captured Ione and have put an end to her evil schemes. However, the witch Guideau is searching for has not yet been found.
From what it seems, a witch has cursed Guideau so they cannot live in their true form. Ashaf mentioned that Guideau is the witch’s natural enemy which might have something to do with the curse.
Ashaf’s reason for accompanying Guideau in their hunt for witches is yet to be revealed. He does not seem to have the same hatred for witches as Guideau.
Ashaf is also a mage and carries around Guideau’s real body with him. All the reasons will be revealed as the story progresses.

Witches know all forms of sorcery, using them to help or curse as they like. You can break a witch’s curse by either the kiss of true love or if the hateful witch has a change of heart. Guideau and Ashaf are looking for a witch.
The duo has found a lead, an apprentice of the witch, who tells them that Lady Witch Ione is the town’s hero. The duo is introduced to Ione when she defeats a monster. Guideau immediately attacks the witch on sight.
Ashaf comes to Guideau’s rescue, telling Ione they will see her later. It is said that centuries ago, a witch casts a curse on the city, but they managed to defeat the witch and seal away the curse. The duo goes to check out Ione’s residence, where the curse is said to be sealed.
A group of women are invited to some anniversary celebration, and the apprentice welcomes all the women inside. Ashaf explains that a witch’s curse cannot be sealed so the city’s history does not add up but the apprentice refuses to believe him and tells them to leave.
He asks her about the anniversary, but nobody except Ione knows. The duo leaves and Ashaf immediately decides to research this and realizes something disturbing.
Meanwhile, the apprentice wakes up dazed and naked, her hands and feet cut off. She looks around and finds everyone in the same state and is terrified. Ione explains how she is using their bodies as a key to unlock the sealed hellfire.
Ione reveals that her grandmother was falsely accused of cursing the city and was killed, so this is her revenge. However, Ione is attacked by Guideau while Ashaf protects all the victims. Guideau shows a rose mark on her neck and asks Ione if she is the one who cursed her.
Ione denies it and pushes her away, but nothing stops Guideau from closing the distance between them. There is a third way to break the witch’s curse, which is to kiss the witch. Guideau kisses Ione, and the curse is temporarily broken, and Guideau’s true form awakens from the casket.
In their true form, Guideau is the natural enemy of witches and easily defeats Ione. It is revealed later that both Ashaf and Guideau are part of the Order of Magical Resonance, which deals with all magic-related problems. All the victims regain their lost limbs after being rescued.

The Witch and the Beast (Majo to Yajū) is a dark fantasy manga series by Kousuke Satake. It started serialization in Young Magazine in November 2016, moved to Monthly Young Magazine in May 2021, and also has an anime adaptation under production.
It follows a beast-like girl Guideau and a mysterious man with a coffin, Asaph, on their way to hunt down a witch who is hailed as a hero.
