As with previous seasons, the premiere opens with a glimpse of the aftermath, this time featuring Belinda’s son, Zion, hearing gunshots and discovering a body.
The episode then flashes back a week to introduce the guests and staff at the Thailand White Lotus resort, setting the stage for the inevitable tragedy.
Creator Mike White has stated that this season will explore themes of Eastern religion, spirituality, and death.
Here’s a breakdown of the characters, ranked from least to most likely to meet their demise, based on the clues and dynamics presented in the first episode:
10 Mook (Lalisa Manobal)
Mook, a White Lotus employee assigned as a health mentor to Rick and Chelsea, seems the least likely to be targeted.
Her interactions are mostly benign, with the only hint of potential drama stemming from her connection to another employee, Gaitok.
However, The White Lotus is known for accidental deaths, so Mook could be a victim of circumstance.

9 Laurie (Carrie Coon)
Laurie is part of a trio of friends (along with Jaclyn and Kate) and seems generally unhappy.
There’s little to suggest she’d be a target, though her resentment towards her friends could potentially lead her down a dark path.
Still, it is as unlikely as her being the victim.
8 Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood)
Chelsea’s storyline revolves around her unhappy relationship with Rick and a connection she forms with another woman at the resort.
This new acquaintance, however, is in a relationship with an older man who may draw Chelsea into a dangerous plot.

7 Rick
Rick is the second half of the unhappy couple, including Chelsea. He could wind up a victim due to his behavior ortrap gone wrong.
6 Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs)
Timothy is a wealthy businessman with a potentially shady past. Episode 1 reveals he’s being questioned about his connection to a company called Sho-Kel and its founder, Kenneth Nguyen.
The pursuit of wealth has often been a motive for violence in The White Lotus, making Timothy a plausible victim.
5 Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey)
Very little is known about the Ratliffs, but what is known about her husband could make her a target.

4 Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan)
Jaclyn is the most likely victim among her friend group due to her fame as an actress. Her wealth and status could make her a target for other unhinged guests.
3 Sritala (Lek Patravadi)
As the White Lotus owner and Jim Hollinger’s wife, Sritala is a prominent figure. Her connection to Jim, who is the target of Rick’s revenge plot, puts her in danger.
Additionally, her wealth makes her a potential target for greed-motivated violence.
2 Belinda (Natasha Rothwell)
Belinda’s return from Season 1 and her direct connection to the flash-forward scene elevate her risk.
Her son, Zion, is the one who discovers the body, suggesting a close connection to the victim.
Given that Tanya, another returning character, met a tragic end in Season 2, Belinda could suffer a similar fate.

1 The Most Likely Victim: Greg (Jon Gries)
Greg’s surprise return makes him the most likely candidate to die this season. Having appeared in seasons 1 and 2, Greg was involved in a plot to kill his wife, Tanya, for her wealth.
His presence in Thailand suggests he may be up to no good again, making him a prime target for someone seeking revenge or simply wanting to stop his schemes.
