Season 2 of The White Lotus began in the same fashion as season 1–by teasing a guest’s death. This time though, the episode teased multiple deaths by the end of season 2.
The first episode reveals many things, and we don’t just mean naked Cameron. Tanya doubts if Greg truly loves her, Harper can’t tell if it’s jealousy or detestation that she feels, Dominic is just as much a flirt as his father, and Portia can barely tolerate her employer.
Who is the mystery victim? Or better yet, how many deaths will follow the course of season 2 of The White Lotus?
1. Episode 2 Synopsis/Speculation
Episode 1 introduced the idea of Teste Di Moro, a story of a cheating husband killed by his mistress when she finds out the truth. The first episode has already introduced two cheaters, one complete with a mistress – but does this clue mean Greg or Dominic may be the mystery corpse in the ocean?
Portia came to Italy to be Tanya’s emotional dumpster, but sparks obviously fly between her and Albie. But will Tanya give her assistant more reasons to commit a not-so-accidental murder as the season progresses?
Episode 2’s promo suggests a crack in Ethan and Cameron’s friendship, more infidelity on Ethan’s part, and Daphne’s somewhat weird behavior around Harper. The details of what goes down between the two couple will be disclosed in episode 2.
Tanya’s skeptisism about Greg’s feelings for her grows even more as she thinks he might be having an affair. Episode 2 might see her trying to uncover his secret and confront him about his betrayal. But will the heated conversation lead to Tanya killing Greg?
Dominic’s continued addiction to sex may be explored further in episode 2, and we might get a closer look at the strenuous relationship between Albie and his father.
The reveal of multiple dead guests also suggests that someone might die in the upcoming episode.
We do see Ethan choking a drowning Cameron in episode 2 preview, but that doesn’t seem like a plausible death. For now, we can say no deaths will follow in the next episode, but since we live for the drama, we hope we’re wrong.

5. Episode 1 Recap
A week ahead of the present time shows a horrified Daphne discovering a dead body floating in the ocean and the hotel staff informing Valentina about multiple demised guests.
Presently, Valentina welcomes her guests at the White Lotus in Sicily, including Tanya, Greg, Portia, the Babcocks, Spillers, and Di Grassos. Lucia and Mia try to spot Lucia’s mystery guest in the crowd from afar.
Greg constantly criticizes Tanya for her assistant’s presence and overeating, showing cracks in their new marriage. The other two married couples seem to be getting on well on the surface, but Harper can’t stand Cameron and Daphne.
Albie and Dominic try to dissuade Bert from his over-the-top flirting, but it’s clear both father-son relations are not doing well. Lucia and Mia continue to give Valentina a hard time, taking their tour of the resort to find the “American” Lucia came to meet.
Portia complains about Tanya’s ill-treatment of her to her friend and meets Albie, and they hit it off, but her employer and his family can’t let them have that peace either.
Greg seems to be cheating on Tanya, and Dominic has clearly not learned from his past mistakes as he is revealed as the American mystery man Lucia met online and how he hired her to spend the night with him.

The White Lotus is an American satire comedy television miniseries created, written, and directed by Mike White that premiered on HBO on July 11, 2021. Season 1 was set in Hawaii, and season 2 in Sicily.
The White Lotus follows the vacations of various hotel guests over a week as they relax and rejuvenate in paradise. But with each passing day, a darker complexity emerges in these picture-perfect travelers, the hotel’s cheerful employees, and the idyllic locale itself.
Jennifer Coolidge and John Gries star in both seasons with a rotating cast in the two seasons. The series was renewed for a third season.
