The Way of the Househusband is one of my favorite manga, but the same cannot be said about its “anime” adaptation.
Trust me, if you’ve read the manga, you’ve also watched the anime as it is nothing more than the manga but on wheels.
So, when Netflix announced the second part of the series, fans were naturally unimpressed. Let’s see if the upcoming season can redeem the anime.
The Way of the Househusband’s second season with five episodes will be exclusively streamed by Netflix starting October 7, 2021. To boost the series, an English subtitled trailer has been released.
The on-point jokes, hilarious characters, and situations adhere faithfully to the manga. The only problem is that it is more faithful than necessary, basically making it manga panels but with narration.
Of course, this new season will come with more “expectations vs. reality” situations where it’ll be hard to hold in your laughter. We will also get to see why it is Tatsu who is the cook in his household. (Prepare to see the demonic side of his wife)

The opening theme, “Chief no Michi,” and the ending theme, “Gokushufikaido,” are both being performed by Uchikubigokumon-Dokokai. Staff and cast members from the first season will reprise their roles.
The live-action adaptation of the series will also receive an extra short premiering on Netflix on October 7. Sadly, the premiere is restricted to Japan for now.
Since the first season adapted very few chapters, there are enough materials left to be adapted. Well, that also means the chapters will continue receiving this pseudo-anime adaptation.
The anime’s first season may have received mixed reviews, with most people disliking the art style, but don’t let it hold you back from watching the upcoming season. After all, it is still one of the best comedy series out there.
About The Way Of the Househusband
The Way of the Househusband is a comedy manga by Kousuke Onno. It was first serialized in February 2018 by Shinchosha and is currently ongoing. It was adapted into a Netflix anime series in 2021.
Immortal Tatsu is a retired yakuza who has chosen the life of a househusband over that of a gangster. He spotlessly finishes all household chores to support his wife, Miku.
His appearance is in stark contrast to his love for cute bentos and dogs. His run-ins with other yakuza often turn out to be a hilarious situation.
