‘The Unwanted Undead Adventurer’ is an upcoming anime adaptation of the dark fantasy light novel written by Yu Okano and illustrated by Jaian.

The anime will follow the adventures of Rentt Faina, a young adventurer who has been stuck killing slimes and goblins for a decade. However, his life changes after encountering the mystical Water Moon Dungeon. Within the dungeon lies a legendary dragon that eats Rentt yet doesn’t exactly kill him.

Streaming on Crunchyroll, ‘The Unwanted Undead Adventurer’ will be adapted by Studio Connect, known for Ayakashi Triangle, Monster Strike, and Strike the Blood series.

‘The Unwanted Undead Adventurer’ (Nozomanu Fushi no Bōkensha) is a light novel series written by Yū Okano and illustrated by Jaian. It was launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in September 2016. Overlap acquired the novel and is publishing it since October 2017.

Rentt Faina is an adventurer with a decade of experience but is stuck to a lower rank because of a lack of innate talent. One day, while exploring a dungeon, he encounters a dragon who eats him. He survives but now exists as a skeleton. Rentt now seeks to physically ‘evolve’ by fighting and absorbing magic.
