A spin-off of One Piece, a novel written by Sho Hinata, serialized in the One Piece magazine and was later published as two compiled book volumes in 2018.
This novel series, dubbed One Piece Novel “A,” revolved around Portgas D. Ace, the son of the Pirate King and Luffy’s brother(adopted).
The 9th issue of the One Piece magazine announced that the light novel has been selected for a manga adaptation.
This adaptation, illustrated by Boichi (famous for his work in Dr. Stone), will start serializing chapters in the 10th issue of the magazine, starting this summer.
Boichi has been making strides in the manga community with his unique style of drawing. He is most recognized for his work in Dr. Stone and Sun-Ken rock. However, One Piece fans may remember him for a one-shot manga based on One Piece he drew last year.
The one-shot followed One Piece’s storyline during the fight between “Pirate Hunter” Zoro and “Hawk-eye” Mihawk. Boichi’s drawing of the manga made it even more special as his art style synergized very well with the events of the chapter itself.
The chapter is available on Viz if you want to check it out.
Viz Media is actually about to release the first novel in May, titled One Piece: Ace’s story.

About One Piece:
One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997, and has been collected into 95 tankōbon volumes.
The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!
Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
