The spinoff anime of “That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime” called The Slime Diaries is out with its 9th episode. The story of this anime is irrelevant to the main plot, hence making it an enjoyable watch with no heavy moments.

In episode 9, Rimuru and his people are just dealing with the arrival of winter. Rimuru goes around town conducting different practices done during Winter. He is also able to make Youm come to terms with his deal and get his approval.

Episode 9, titled “The Arrival of Winter,” starts off with Milim fooling around with the heater in Rimuru’s resting place.

Rimuru prepares everyone in different ways to battle the climate. He suggests everyone should wear multilayered clothing even if they are resistant to the cold. 

Rimuru starts the Fire Awareness Campaign. He selects Gobta to lead this campaign to prevent house fires and other types of fires due to carelessness. Benimmaru has been appointed as the mascot for this campaign.

Milim dedicatedly visits Vesta and watches him make swords. Vesta teaches her how concentration is a must while making different kinds of weapons, and lacking even a little can have disastrous effects.

Rimuru is made aware that Gabiru and the other Lizardmen tend to hibernate during the winter. However, it depends from individual to individual.

As Benimaru goes out to train, he notices that Shuna is really caught up in some work. Later, when he gets back, he sees that Shuna has even something for him and wears it immediately without any hesitation with a smile on his face.

Milim demands Shion to let her carry Rimuru, even though Shion claims that it is more challenging than it looks. Shion finally gives in and lets Milim do as she pleases. Milim is unable to do the job properly and ends up throwing Rimuru on the floor.

The episode ends with Rimuru meeting Youm, and giving him a chance to work with the city of monsters by making a deal with each other.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime is a Japanese manga series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. It was serialized online in 2013 but was later shifted to Micro Magazine as a light novel in 2014. It currently has 21 volumes.

The story of Tensei Shitara Slime follows the journey of Satoru Mikami after he died and reincarnated as a slime in fantasy land. A slime is a creature that reproduces the form and powers of anything that it absorbs or eats.

Satoru starts eating all the magical herbs and crystals in the cave he woke up in and stumbles upon a dragon who had been captured and couldn’t move due to a barrier. Since both of them had nothing else to do, they befriend each other. The dragon accidentally makes Satoru a named monster, and Satoru promises him that he’d find a way to break the barrier. Hence, an unknown journey begins with this unusual friendship.
