Even though The Seven Deadly Sins are disbanded, they will help Meliodas defeat his father once and for all and save his brother Zeldris.

3. Recap of Episode 16

Episode 16 titled, “The Final Battle,” marks the start of the final battle between Meliodas and his father, who is now in possession of Zeldris’ body. 

The Seven Deadly Sins, except for Escanor, face the monster, Indura, feared even among the demons. Innumerable spawns of Indura try to make their way towards the city. None of their attacks is able to overcome the sheer number of spawns.

However, Ban steps up to take care of the issue at hand. He prepares himself to go all out and take out every one of the Monster’s spawn. At that moment, Merlin hands Ban the Sacred Treasure Courechouse. 

Only Ban can bring out its true potential since he has far surpassed everyone on the human and supernatural level. Ban uses his powers and takes care of all of them in one go. 

One of the Monster’s spawn made its way to the capital. Gilthunder, Howzer, and Griamore are being overpowered by it. Escanor comes to their rescue even though he does not have his Grace of Sunshine anymore. 

As the Monster’s spawn was going to kill Escanor, Mael arrives and eliminates it. 

Escanor asks Mael to lend him the Grace of Sunshine once again. Mael mentions that Escanor’s body cannot handle the burden of the grace anymore and will perish after using it one more time. 

Meliodas’ father tries to use Elizabeth as his hostage against Meliodas. However, Elizabeth holds her own against the former Demon King. 

Meliodas attempts to reach Zeldris, who is now possessed by his father, and stops him from giving complete control of his body. 

Meliodas decides to battle his father on his own. He did not want to ask his comrades, The Seven Deadly Sins, for help since he feels like he already owes them a lot. However, as the battle gets more intense, Meliodas gets overpowered by his father. 

The episode ends with The Seven Deadly Sins arriving at the location to help Meliodas and throwing the dead carcass of the monster Indura at the former Demon King.
