Two new friends join us in episode 7, one human and one monster. Ratotille Anthreya, a former alchemist at Faudrey, is sent by the queen to help Naofumi. She tells him that her specialty is monsters and proposes to help with the Monster farm.
There, they find out about the dragon egg from the children. After several days of caring for the egg, our new monster friend, a bright red dragon, hatches from it. Wyndia names it Gaelion.

2. Episode 8 Speculation
Now that the Berserk Gaelion is out in the open, there’s no saying what will happen if he finds his way to the village in this maddened state. Naofumi and the group also have no idea as to what’s wrong with him. So, it definitely will be a hassle for them to save him. How will they track him, and can he be saved now?
No one knows exactly how dangerous our new friend is, but according to Rat, they are supposed to be pretty loyal. But how much of that Loyalty will come in handy here? To know the answers, we must wait for episode 8.
3. Recap of Episode 7
Episode 7 of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” started with a heartwarming scene of the kids having fun while Naofumi and Raphtalia cook for them. Naofumi also invites Ren to lend a hand in the cooking, and Eclair cheerfully tells the kids that the Sword Hero Ren will be the one serving the breakfast.
Sometime later, we see Filo in trouble as some unknown visitor is chasing her on her back. Filo asks for Naofumi’s help as she rushes towards him. The guest introduces herself as Ratotille Anthreya. She then hands Naofumi a letter from the queen, which further describes who she actually is. It’s revealed that she used to be an Alchemist at Faubrey.
Later, she goes to see the monster farm with Naofumi and Raphtalia, where she’s amazed by how big the caterpillands are. After this, Naofumi and the others learn about the dragon egg from the kids that came with Siltvelt’s package. The group decides to keep it as Rat says she’ll take care of it.
After this, we see the white tiger siblings. Seeing his sister unable to fall asleep, Fohl asks Atla to get into bed as he sings their mother’s lullaby at her request.
A few minutes later, when both of them seem to have fallen asleep, Atla comes down from her bed and gives a smirk that makes it seem like she has some ulterior motives.
The next morning, Naofumi is greeted good morning by Atla as she sneaks into his bed yet again. Raphtalia comes and drags her away from the room as she whines about staying there. Later, in Naofumi’s office, S’yne comes to visit him. On the same day, the dragon egg hatches, which introduces us to the group’s newest addition, a cute little friend.
Wyndia names the dragon Gaelion, and days pass by peacefully with our new friend. But during all this, someone has been knocking on Naofumi’s door and running away, so he sets a trap for it. Turns out it was Gaelion all along since he wanted to play.
They bring him to Naofumi’s room, where he accidentally swallows the Emperor Dragon’s core. Nadia rushes to drag Naofumi away from Gaelion as he suddenly turns huge and goes berserk. Before they could deal with and save him, Gaelion flies away, ending the episode.

Tate no Yusha no Nariagari or The Rising of the Shield Hero is an isekai light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. It was initially published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from 2012 to 2015.
In August 2013, Media Factory started publishing the light novel series with an expanded storyline featuring illustrations by Seira Minami.
Later on, Kinema Citrus adapted the light novel into an anime television series. The first episode aired on 9 January 2019.
