The deciding battle between our heroes and the emperor dragon begins. After devising a plan to take it down, Naofumi lures it out in the open. Nadia works with the kids to keep it on the ground using the power of the dragon veins. Ren and Raphtalia attack it while the white tiger brothers stand by as per Naofumi’s orders.
But after seeing the dragon knock everyone with its terrifying attack, Atla manifests her yet-unknown powers and launches at the dragon. With Naomi and Fohl’s help, she fatally damages the dragon, and Raphtalia lands the final blow.

No, Season 3 of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” is not on a break this week. Episode 10 is not delayed and should be released as usual on the above-mentioned date.
2. Episode 10 Speculation
Episode 10 is titled “Perfect Hidden Justice” and will be the dawn of a new adventure. With the emperor dragon dead, the heroes finally get to relax a bit. But some new danger surely awaits them in the next part of their journey. With Wyndia’s dad joining the group as Gaelion, that’s one more member increasing the strength of the Party.
Ren also got along with everyone in the group and will be travelling with them from now on. The emperor dragon absorbed Filo’s curse, and with its death, the curse is gone, too. It’s possible that we will go into deeper details about Atla’s powers in the upcoming episodes.
3. Recap of Episode 9
Episode 9 starts with the battle between our heroes and Gaelion, who has become the emperor dragon. His attacks are strong enough to penetrate all of Naoufumi’s shields simultaneously. Additionally, his defense keeps him safe from attacks.
Amid all this chaos, Atla rushes towards the dragon, and even though it’s unclear what she did to it, it seems effective. Naofumi concludes that Atla’s attack is the only way to damage the dragon now. Before they could do anything, the dragon’s attack cracked open the cave ceiling, and rushing water took our heroes outside.
After giving everyone first aid, they set up camp near the cave. Atla asks Wyndia if that really was her father. Wyndia gets lost in memories and suddenly remembers something about an upside-down dragon scale. She says that it’s important to let Naofumi know about this.
The point of view switches to Naofumi’s side, where everyone is making a plan to take the dragon down. They were deciding where they’d have the deciding battle when Wyndia came running to tell Naofumi about the dragon scale.
With this new crucial info, they devise a plan to take down the enemy. Naofumi will lure the dragon with the use of a wrath shield, Nadia, Wyndia and Meltia will keep the dragon on the ground, and the others will attack its weak point. Everyone spends the night preparing for the big fight.
The next day, the battle begins. As soon as the dragon arrives, Nadia and the kids cast the choral spell to pin him on the ground. The others launch their attack on him as Naofumi continue to defend everyone. Their attacks seemed to hurt the dragon at first, but suddenly, the dragon launched a terrifying attack.
Atla and Fohl stood by in the forest since Naofumi could not deduct the origins of Atla’s powers, even though they were the most effective. After seeing the dragon knock everyone out, Atla manifests her power and jumps at the dragon. With some help from Fohl and Naofumi, she successfully lands the attack, knocks the dragon, and frees Gaelion and Filo.
Once Wyndia bids her farewell to her dad, she prepares for the final attack along with Nadia, Meltia and Gaelion. Nadia takes the dragon’s core out of its body. It attempts to escape, but Raphtalia lands the finishing blow. With this, the battle ends. Later, Naofumi finds out that Gaelion’s body has turned into a vessel for Wyndia’s father.

Tate no Yusha no Nariagari or The Rising of the Shield Hero is an isekai light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. It was initially published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from 2012 to 2015.
In August 2013, Media Factory started publishing the light novel series with an expanded storyline featuring illustrations by Seira Minami.
Later on, Kinema Citrus adapted the light novel into an anime television series. The first episode aired on 9 January 2019.
