Rishia was the center of attention in this episode and she got some decent development in it. Her dilemma and acceptance of fate were very well done in the episode. Ost was the one who never left her side and helped her out with all her problems.
Just like the previous episodes, this one as well ended at a massive cliffhanger, hyping us for the upcoming events. The mystery surrounding the Spirit Tortoise is increasing with every passing episode.

The sudden appearance of Glass has stirred up the situation. Why is she there, and what does she want? It will be interesting to know about her motivation.
It seems that Ost Hourai will have a significant role in the next episode. She has been a crucial part of the anime all this time, and it looks like her most important part has yet to come into play.

Episode 4 Recap
Rishia recounts how she was born in a poor but humble family. She had a peaceful life, but one day, she was taken away and imprisoned by a noble because of some debt to her father.
It was at this time that the bow hero came to her rescue. From that time on, she feels indebted to him and just wants to repay him. Ost Hourai tries to console her by saying that she believes that he is safe.
Naofumi shows up, saying that they are leaving for the back of the Spirit Tortoise at dawn. Since Ost Hourai is still alive, the Spirit Tortoise can revive and begin its rampage anytime.
However, the troops needed time to get back on their feet, Naofumi decided that he should go out with his team and check for the Tortoise’s weak points.
On reaching its back, Naofumi decides to lay camp on the Tortoise’s back. At night, Ost and Rishia sit near the campfire, where Rishia starts talking about how she was a single child and that leaving her parents was her own choice. However, she was traumatized when the bow hero’s party abandoned her.
Ost tries to cheer her up by saying that she still has a chance to save the bow hero. Ost suddenly starts feeling heavy in the head, hinting at something wrong. When they go in the direction Ost tells them to, they find destroyed houses and dead corpses there.
Mirelia shows up too, telling them there is a temple up ahead. She accompanies Naofumi and his party to the temple and finds some ancient texts and some things written in Japanese. Rishia helps them translate the ancient text. The place contains information about the Spirit Tortoise’s seal and how to break it.
The temple collapses suddenly, forcing them to move out. The Spirit Tortoise is expected to make its move soon. Ost finally remembers how to defeat the Tortoise, and that is by going inside it and destroying its heart.
Naofumi decides to go inside the Tortoise. Rishia is ready to come with them as she is now a member of his party. They reach inside the Tortoise with the help of some directions written inside the temple.
Inside, they encounter some adventurers revealed to be L’Arc and Therese, but Naofumi is shocked to see that Glass is also accompanying them.

Tate no Yusha no Nariagari or The Rising of the Shield Hero is an isekai light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. It was initially published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from 2012 to 2015.
In August 2013, Media Factory started publishing the light novel series with an expanded storyline featuring illustrations by Seira Minami.
