Playing the role of Cynthia is none other than Satoshi Sakurai. He is of the firm belief that Cynthia and Ash will battle it out with Garchomp and Pikachu on their sides, respectively.

Talking about his character, he says Cynthia is one of the Masters Eights in the “Pokemon World Championships,” and this return to the anime is a way to say it’s finally time to show Cynthia and her Garchomp’s mighty strength.
