This episode will reveal more about the demon half of the world, where humans are raised as livestock.
Mujika and Sonju will be leading them to the very end of this dangerous forest, where the wasteland begins. And from there onwards, the children have to find their way to the BO6-32 location.
The wasteland is supposed to be devoid of demons. However, the demons in the forest have found the clue that Ray left on the tree. This must have given the demons a vague idea about where the children are headed.

Episode 2 assured that the two hooded demons have no intention to harm the children. In fact, these two are helping them to survive in this cruel world.
Emma and Ray reunite with their friends and are relieved to find all of them safe. Mujika and Sonju have prepared food for them, and all of them enjoy a feast together, just like how they used to have back in the Grace Field House.
I. The Promise Between Humans and Demons
Sonju later explains that he and Mujika have abstained from consuming human flesh due to some religious differences. They aren’t bound by the farm’s ideology of raising humans as livestock.
He also reveals the history behind the world they witness today. According to him, once upon a time, demons and humans lived together, and there existed an endless battle between the two races trying to be at the top of the food chain.
About a thousand years ago, this war ended with a signing of an agreement, which divided the world into two halves. One belonging to the humans and the other one to the demons.
II. Adapting in this New World
The next day, Mujika and Sonju show them the way to the forest’s exist. They use underground tunnels made from dead trees to prevent the children from getting tracked by demons.
It seems that the children are just now learning the basic skills to gradually adapt to this new world. But hunting is one of the most necessary requirements that these children are still ignorant of.
Emma asks Sonju to teach her how to kill a living being. She initially hesitates but manages to hunt down a vulture under Sonju’s supervision. Now that she has learned to kill, she has entered the ruthless cycle of hunter and prey.
