All of us thought that Chapter 179 will most probably be the last chapter of The Promised Neverland manga. However, the tables have turned!
The promise was rewritten by Emma, and the kids were transported to the human world. But Emma herself is nowhere to be found.
Sonju and Mujika accompanied Emma and kids during their final moments in the demon world. All the kids are now on a journey to find Emma.
Chapter 181 will be out soon, so let us dive into its spoilers, release date, and other details.
1. Chapter 181 Release Date
Chapter 181 of The Promised Neverland manga will be released on Sunday, June 15, at 9:30 am PDT. The title for the upcoming chapter will, ironically, be “Final Chapter!”
In the next chapter, we will see the kids from Grace Field Farm going on their final adventure – to find Emma.
2. Is The Promised Neverland chapter 181 on a break?
Well, I hope not! At the moment, The Promised Neverland manga is not on a break and is set to release as per its weekly schedule of every Sunday.
3. Chapter 181 Raw Scans, Leaks, Spoilers
The raw scans for chapter 181, titled “Final Chapter,” came out recently and revealed that it will be the last chapter of the manga. The chapter will contain a two-page wide color spread of all the kids running towards the ocean in a sunset-background while Emma is standing behind.
Chapter 181 will pick from where the chapter 180 ended, Emma finally decides to move on with her life and accepts that she can’t regain her memories.
The family tried to search for Emma for two years in the “existing countries,” until they finally think out of the box and search for countries that “used to exist.” While she is running freely in a market-setting, other kids(Ray, Phil, Norman, and so on) are also there trying to find her.
The next few panels seem to have a film-like setting, Emma and Ray cross each other without noticing. While Emma comes back to find her lost necklace, Ray comes back ’cause he has a ‘premonition’ via Connie’s ghost.
THEY DID IT! The two groups finally find each other after two years of struggle in human world. The manga will finish with a very Neverland-like ending.
In the end, Emma won’t regain her memories – a small price to pay for achieving ‘The Promised Neverland‘ but she does decide to live together with the rest of the kids.
5. Where to Read The Promised Neverland
5. Chapter 181 Speculations/Predictions
In chapter 179’s raw scans, we saw Emma saying that there is no compensation for THE PROMISE with the Demon God. Chapter 180 revealed that there was indeed a promise – Emma has to lose her everything.
The Fateful Reunion
After the hardships and such complex buildup, it will be a waste to see Emma being away and breaking her promise by the end of the manga.
As we know, The Promised Neverland manga will be ending a couple of chapters, it’s safe to say that Emma will indeed reunite with the other children from Grace Field Farm and fulfil her promise.
Unless, you think otherwise? Let me know what do you think will happen in the manga finale in the comments down below!
6. Chapter 180 Recap
Chapter 179, titled “Your Everything,” starts with Emma lying on a snowy land farther away from where the other children landed. She’s then found by a mysterious old man, and taken to his house for treatment.
Emma’s true promise to Him (The Demon God) revealed that the speculations were true about Emma lying to the other children. The ever-evil Demon God does not forgive anyone. He did ask for something in return, and it was Emma’s everything.
As per the promise, all the kids, including Emma, returned to the Human World, but Emma lost everything. She has no recollection of her past memories of children of the Grace Field House, Izabella, or Mujika.
Her situation is contrasted with the old man’s in this chapter. At the same time, he lost everything (his family and friends) to a political war, Emma lost her in a war. They take care of each other for six months until they visit a nearby town.
The chapter ends with Emma running happily in what seems to be a market and trying to move forward. At the same time, we see a glimpse of Ray and others trying to find Emma.
