The end is nigh! After its sudden cancellation by Disney+, The Owl House was slated to return for one last season. Season 3 confirmed three specials, marking the end of Luz Nuceda and her adventures in the Boiling Isles with her new magical friends.
Episodes 1 & 2 have already aired on Disney and will be available to stream on Disney+ on February 8, 2023. But we still have the last episode left and the final excursion of the brave protagonist in the Boiling Isles. What can we expect from the season 3 finale?
1. S3E3 Release Date
Disney hasn’t given a confirmed release date for The Owl House S3 episode 3 as of February 2023. It’ll be the final episode of The Owl House franchise, as the series was canceled by Disney last year. Based on previous patterns, S3E3 is expected to air in April or May 2023.
2. Episode 3 Speculation
Disney has not yet released a synopsis or trailer for the final episode of The Owl House, but we have a few guesses about where the story could go.
Camilla and Luz, with her friends, will return to the Collector’s castle and reunite with Hunter to finally decide what can be done about the child dictator.
Belos may have turned the Collector against the gang, but he needs a helper to rise as the ruler of the Boiling Isles. It’ll be interesting to see who he chooses to do that, though our bets rest on Kikimora.
Luz had already decided to stay in the human realm, but she needed to clean up her mess in the demon realm one last time. The upcoming episode will present a final choice to her – will she live out the rest of her days in the human realm or on Boiling Isles?

5. Episode 1 & 2 Recap
Luz and her friends land in the Human realm, right outside her house, and Camilla greets them with surprise at the door. The gang has to figure a way out to defeat the Collector, but a big obstacle lies between them and their mission. They first have to open a new portal to the Boiling Isles and need Titan’s blood to do so, and they intend to find it quickly.
Luz returns to school, feeling guilty for uniting Collector and Belos, which brought terrible losses and made her return to the human realm. When she opens up to Camilla, her mother ensures her that we all make mistakes, and it’s our job to learn from them.
Luz decides she’ll tell everyone that she intends to stay in the Human Realm on Halloween, but her friends, along with Vee, have already discovered the Titan’s blood. Belos, who possessed Hunter, tricks Luz and the others and escapes to the Boiling Isles, leaving Hunter fatally wounded.
Flapjack sacrifices himself to save Hunter, and the group prepares to use the same portal to pursue Belos. Before Luz can voice her decision, Camilla announces she will join them in the Demon Realm, and all of them cross over, leaving Vee behind to keep up appearances.
Luz and her friends, along with Camilla, climb out into a heavily changed Boiling Isles where the Collector has turned everyone into his puppet, save King, Odalia, Lilith, and Eda. The gang couldn’t have come at a better time since Belos possess Raine’s puppet and lead Collector to believe they all stand against him.
King doesn’t want to harm the Collector despite him turning on his playmate and threatening everyone else. Luz, Camilla, and the rest return to The Owl House and find that Boscha has taken over and is ruling with an iron fist. But later, the episode reveals that it was Kikimora who influenced Boscha after Amity’s departure.
Luz’s feelings overwhelm her, and Camilla helps her get a handle on it while Gus and Hunter do the same for Willow. The gang then convinces Boscha and the entire school and escape to Collector’s castle. Laz’s Palisman finally cracks, revealing a snake shifter who she names Stringbean.
6. About The Owl House
The Owl House is an American animated fantasy television series created by Dana Terrace that premiered on Disney Channel on January 10, 2020. The series stars the voices of Sarah-Nicole Robles, Wendie Malick, and Alex Hirsch.
Luz Noceda is a teenage human girl who accidentally stumbles upon a portal to another world instead of going to a juvenile detention summer camp. She arrives on an archipelago known as the Boiling Isles, formed from the remains of a dead Titan, and befriends the rebellious witch Eda Clawthorne (alias “The Owl Lady”) and her adorable demon roommate King.
Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda’s apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting.
The second season, directly following the events of the first season finale, will follow the main protagonists working together to return Luz to the Human Realm, help Eda confront her inner demons, and search for the truth about King’s past.
