Whether it’s space or Earth roadblocks, The Orville has conquered them all to finally have a release date. After multiple delays, the highly-awaited third season will greet the fans in March 2022.
Also called The Orville: New Horizons, season 3 will take fans through another round of adventures in their spaceship Orville as they explore the universe.
Series creator, co-producer, and lead actor Seth MacFarlane posted a first-look still of the Orville family sitting in the spaceship’s lobby.
The still brings back the old characters – Captain Ed Mercer (MacFarlane), Mercer’s ex-wife Commander Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki), Lieutenant Gordon Malloy (Scott Grimes), and Admiral Halsey (Victor Garber) – at their usual posts.
The image also shows multiple new faces. Ensign Charly Burke, played by Anne Winters, sits with Gordon Malloy in the front. We also see Bruce Boxleitner, who will be playing President Alcuzan, and the late Lisa Banes, who portrayed Senator Balask.
While not shown in the first-look still, Eliza Taylor will also be appearing in the new season.

Meanwhile, The Orville season 3 will be focusing on both the extraterrestrial adventures and the “interpersonal relationships” of the Orville space team.
Despite average reviews from critics, with its parody of Star Trek and humor, The Orville garnered a loyal fandom over the years.
Season 2 ended in 2019, and the fandom has waited three long years for the next season. While fans have their expectations, they might set it aside to have the Orville crew back in action for their multi-universe adventures.
A slight hiccup in fans’ way would be the series going to Hulu. Ardent fans who don’t live in the U.S. are already making plans not to miss the series on Twitter.
The 10-episode The Orville season 3 will premiere on March 10, 2022, with weekly updates, exclusively on Hulu.
