The Night Agent Among Netflix’s Top Shows in Just 3 Weeks

The Night Agent has garnered massive viewership on Netflix within a span of three weeks since its premiere. 

This show features an FBI employee who receives a distressing call that uncovers a bigger conspiracy, and it has captured the attention of many viewers. Typically, Netflix takes several weeks or even months before announcing the renewal of its titles, but in this case, The Night Agent season 2 was quickly confirmed due to its impressive viewership.

The Night Agent, a political thriller, has achieved yet another accomplishment, as reported by TheWrap. Merely three weeks after its release, the show has secured a position in Netflix’s Top 10 list of English-language TV shows. 

Led by Gabriel Basso and created by seasoned TV writer Shawn Ryan, The Night Agent has earned the ninth spot on the list. Its viewership has been impressive, with a total of over 62 million views and 515.57 million hours watched since its premiere on March 23.

The Night Agent has earned a place in Netflix’s Top 10 list of English-language TV shows, but it ranks lower than some other notable Netflix Originals. Leading the pack is Stranger Things season 4, followed by Wednesday and Dahmer: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

Bridgerton occupies both the fourth and fifth spots for season 1 and season 2, respectively. The list also features another popular Netflix shows, The Witcher.

The Night Agent has managed to surpass Ginny & Georgia, knocking it off Netflix’s Top 10 list. Additionally, it almost managed to push Inventing Anna down to the tenth spot. 

It’s worth noting that Netflix’s Top 10 list is determined based on the viewership data of the first 28 days after a movie or show’s premiere. Therefore, The Night Agent still has nine more days to achieve more success.

One of the factors that has helped The Night Agent secure a quick renewal is the positive reviews it has received from critics. This is in contrast to recent political thrillers on streaming platforms such as The Recruit, which have been met with lukewarm or outright negative reviews. 

The Night Agent’s impressive start is noteworthy for a genre that has previously been reasonably enjoyable but has not often resulted in glowing recommendations or record-breaking success in recent years.
