Battle for ranks, falling in love like snowfall, superhero battles and showdowns, dungeons and dragons, and, of course, isekai drops, 2024 has brought a diverse range of fantastic anime. The year began well, with the return of popular series from 2023, such as the emotional but thrilling Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and the captivating procedural storytelling of The Apothecary Diaries, delivering excellent new episodes.
However, excluding these masterpieces, we still saw a bunch of blockbusters. Here’s a list of 2024 releases that not only won the audience over but also became a part of our shared anime experience.
10Wind Breaker
Welcome to Furin High School, an institution infamous for its population of brawny brutes who solve every conflict with a show of strength. Some of the students even formed a group, Bofurin, which protects the town.
In this environment, Haruka Sakura, a first-year student who moved in from out of town, stands out. He is only interested in the most powerful of the strong; he has no desire to connect with weaklings. He recently enrolled in Furin High School and only wants to fight his way to the top; he doesn’t care about being a hero or a member of any group.
9Kaiju No.8
In Japan, monsters called kaiju frequently assault the people, while the Japanese Defense Force is responsible for eliminating them. Following the destruction of their town by kaiju during their childhood, friends Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro made a promise to join the Defense Force. Mina gained recognition for leading the Third Unit of the Defense Force. However, Kafka failed the examination and became a part of the clean-up crew responsible for disposing of the monsters’ corpses post-battle.
After a small talking monster flies into his body via his mouth, Kafka acquires the power to transform into a monster, later identified as “Kaiju No. 8” by the Defense Force. Kafka retains his full awareness in his transformed state, but he acquires unparalleled strength and becomes the first monster to break free from the Defense Force. Having a newly discovered determination, Kafka makes the choice to support Mina in battle and enlists in the Defence Force, all while concealing his newfound powers
8KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! 3
Kazuma Satou, a high school student, gamer, and shut-in, passed away on a typical day while walking home from school after performing the sole heroic deed of his lifetime. 7My Hero Academia Season 7
Izuku Midoriya, a fan of superheroes, is powerless in a society full of superhumans. Yet, when the Quirkless dreamer Izuku receives the abilities of the world’s greatest superhero, All Might, his dream of becoming the top hero becomes attainable. After joining U.A., the high school for heroes, Izuku quickly realizes that being a hero is not as simple as he thought.
In Season 7, the focus shifts to the battle against All For One and Tomura Shigaraki, with Star and Stripe playing a crucial role. Deku’s confrontation with Shigaraki escalates as the Final Saga unfolds, resulting in a dramatic showdown between their powers and beliefs.

Yuki Itose is just a typical student dealing with the pressures of college. She is struggling one day on the train when she meets a handsome stranger who helps her out on the train.
The handsome stranger turns out to be an upperclassman named Itsuomi Nagi helps her out. As he gradually opens a new world to her, Yuki develops feelings for Itsuomi. What sort of relationship will bloom between them? Could this be something real? Or will these feelings melt away with the snow? A pure love story begins to grow.
5Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2
Rudeus Greyrat seems to have had great success following the guidance of the faceless deity Hitogami. Upon joining the University of Magic as instructed, Rudeus reunites with his childhood friend Sylphiette, who plays a crucial role in helping him recover from his illness. Their bond grows stronger, leading them to decide to throw a wedding celebration, inviting the friends they have met to declare and legalize their relationship.

In addition, complications arise in Rudeus’ relationships due to a letter from his father, Paul, and Sylphiette remains unaware of his true origins. 4Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc
Demons attack a family, leaving only Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko as the survivors, with Nezuko gradually transforming into a demon. Tanjiro embarks on a journey to become a demon slayer in order to seek justice for his family and find a cure for his sister.
The upcoming Hashira Training arc is set to be the most crucial plotline in the narrative of Demon Slayer. While training with the Hashira, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke work hard to become stronger for their upcoming battle against Muzan Kibutsuji whose defeat would let Tanjiro fulfill all his goals.
3Solo Leveling
In a world where hunters, individuals with magical powers, have to fight dangerous monsters to save humanity from destruction, Sung Jinwoo, a known weak hunter, is caught in an ongoing fight for his life. After barely escaping a deadly double dungeon that almost killed his whole team, a strange program named the System selects him as its only player and grants him the rare power to increase his strength through leveling up, potentially surpassing all existing boundaries.
Jinwoo embarks on a quest where he battles various foes, human and beast alike, in order to uncover the mysteries of the dungeons and the origins of his abilities, each battle a life-and-death struggle against the monstrous foes.
2Mashle: Magic and Muscles
Set in a magical world where one’s societal position is determined by their magical power and skill, Mash Burnedead is a young man who lacks any magical abilities. His only hope for a peaceful life with his adoptive father, Regro, is to become a Divine Visionary, a title reserved for the most exceptional students of the Easton Magic Academy.
Despite the societal norms that seem to be stacked against him, Mash, with his sheer determination, sets out to prove that physical strength can surpass magic.
1Delicious in Dungeon
Adventuring knight Laios Touden leads a small party through a seemingly endless dungeon, an underground maze full of dangerous monsters and precarious traps. After a formidable dragon devours Falin, Laios’ sister, who specializes in casting spells, she transports her brother and his friends back to the starting point to rescue them from permanent demise. Despite being short on funds and resources, Laios is determined to brave the dungeon and save Falin from being eaten by the dragon.
Due to the lack of enough money, the party is in danger of running out of food before finishing their mission. However, they find salvation in Senshi, a dwarven warrior with a penchant for cooking and safely eating defeated monsters. With Senshi’s cooking skills, Laios and his group navigate the dungeon, discovering both gourmet food and more about each other throughout their journey.
