Marvel Studios released the final trailer for The Marvels ahead of the film’s theatrical release on Friday. The trailer was released during the Monday Night Football match between the Los Angeles Chargers and the New York Jets.
The upcoming MCU film follows Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, as she teams up with Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel, and SABER astronaut Monica Rambeau to save the universe.
After saving herself from the authoritarian Kree and taking revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, Captain Marvel finds herself in a messed-up cosmic situation. She visits a wormhole related to a Kree revolutionary when her powers get linked to Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau.
The film marks the return of Captain Marvel on the big screen since the end credits of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021).
The latest trailer for The Marvels includes flashbacks of former Avenger members, including Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans), with Valkyrie making a cameo appearance in the end.
Check the trailer out here:
The trailer begins with flashbacks from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame featuring Captain America and Iron Man as Nick Fury’s voice appears in the background.
Heroes, it’s an old-fashioned notion. But the world can still use them.” – Nick Fury
The flashbacks are meant to bring back a sense of nostalgia as Captain Marvel prepares to face a dangerous cosmic threat. She’s also one of the only Avengers left from Phase 3, as she reminds us that though they “destroyed Thanos,” the threat is far from over.
The trailer also includes Monica Rambeau explaining the problem at hand, as there’s a tear in space leading to a different reality seeming into their own. Captain Marvel, along with her allies, must save the day. Dar-Benn is the antagonist in the story whom The Marvels together must defeat.
Towards the end, the trailer features a short cameo appearance by Valkyrie, who tells Carol that she can stand tall without being alone. Valkyrie’s appearance was not completely unexpected, given the producers had dropped hints about it earlier.
The trailer is meant to create some more buzz before The Marvels hits theaters on Friday. The ticket sales for The Marvels have not been up to the mark till now, so the studios are trying to bring back the craze using the previous Avengers.
The Marvels releases in theaters on November 10, 2023.
