The much-awaited third season of ‘The Mandalorian’, starring Pedro Pascal as the titular character, will start streaming March 1, 2023 on Disney+.
The upcoming season will pick up right after the events of the Season 2 finale and the finale of its spin-off series, ‘The Book of Boba Fett’.

Djarin has also become the rightful owner of the Darksaber, thus making him the heir to Mandalore. Season 3 will follow the events that take place as a result of these revelations.

3. Is there a Trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3?
The trailer for ‘The Mandalorian’ season 3 was released on January 16, 2023.
In this 1-minute and 42-second video, we see the Mandalorians reuniting, the destroyed capital city of Mandalore, Djarin and Grogu returning to meet Greef Karga and an appearance by Babu Frik, amongst many other clips teasing the events of season 3.
You can read the full trailer breakdown here.
Disney+ also released the first official clip from the new season on February 16, 2023.
In this 45-second clip, we see Djarin and Grogu returning to Nevarro to meet Magistrate Greef Karga where Djarin explains how he reunited with Grogu. The clip acts as a recap of the events of The Book of Boba Fett and bridges the gap between The Madalorian Season 2 finale and The Book of Boba Fett.
You can read more about this clip here.
4. What will the Plot of The Mandalorian Season 3 be?
As we saw at the end of season 2, Din Djarin is now the rightful owner of the Darksaber. However, we also know that he has no intention of becoming a ruler of Mandalore. This could be a potential conflict in season 3. If Bo-Katan wants to take the weapon and claim the throne, she will have to defeat Djarin in battle.
Another exciting aspect of season 3 is the return of Grogu. We can expect his journey with Djarin to continue and see more of their adventures against the Empire. Moff Gideon may have been defeated but there are several other old aliens and new enemies out in the galaxy.

In the trailer, we also get a glimpse of a destroyed Mandalore that was attacked during the Great Purge, before the events of this series. Bo-Katan has still not given up on restoring the city to its glory days so we could see her attempting to reunite the Mandalorians again in the new season.
In case you need to jog your memory, here is a recap of seasons 1 and 2.
5. When and Where will The Mandalorian Season 3 be Set?
With respect to the Star Wars movies, The Mandalorian is set five years after the events of Return of The Jedi (1983). The first two seasons of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett all happen very close to each other, time-wise.
We could either expect season 3 to happen immediately after The Book of Boba Fett or we could expect a time jump. Either way, we won’t know for sure until the first episode is out.
As for where season 3 will be set, all hints so far lead us to believe that a good part of the season will take place in the Mandalorian Homeworld; however, locations already shown to us in the seasons prior to this one will also be used.
6. Who is in the Cast of The Mandalorian Season 3?
Pedro Pascal will obviously come back as The Mandalorian. Besides him, returning cast members include Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Emily Swallow as The Armorer, Omid Abtahi as Dr. Pershing and Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto.
It isn’t clear yet whether Temuera Morrison and Rosario Dawson will make appearances as their characters Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano, respectively, in the new season. However, it is confirmed that Christopher Lloyd and Tim Meadows will join the cast.
Some fans might be pleased to hear that Gina Carano will not be coming back as Cara Dune. Disney and Lucasfilm cut off all ties with her after she posted some problematic statements on social media. Unfortunately, we don’t know if they will recast her character either.

7. Who are the Writers and Directors of The Mandalorian Season 3?
Jon Favreau wrote all eight episodes of season 3. He also collaborated with Noah Kloor on the third episode and with Dave Filoni on the fourth and seventh episodes.
Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Lee Isaac Chung, Peter Ramsey, and Rachel Morrison have all directed episodes this season.
8. Will there be a Season 4 of The Mandalorian?
Yes, there will be a Season 4 of The Mandalorian and it is currently in development. But, we do not have any other information about it as of now.
Since The Mandalorian takes place only five years after Return of the Jedi, and the next film in the Star Wars franchise’s timeline, The Force Awakens, is set thirty years later, the series still has plenty more room to grow.
But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. Season 3 of the Mandalorian will be here very soon and I’m sure it’s going to be worth all the excitement and anticipation!
