On December 21, Kadokawa released a new character promotional video for the television anime adaptation of Piero Karasu‘s The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess light novel.
The new video features the character Anisphia von Palletia, who is a princess with a penchant for magicology. Despite being a royal, Anisphia develops a unique magical theory based on memories from her past life.
The anime will premiere in Japan on January 4 on the channels AT-X, Tokyo MX, TV Aichi, Kansai TV, and BS11. The series will stream in Japan on the platform Abema.
The anime stars Sayaka Senbongi as Anisphia von Palletia, Manaka Iwami as Euphyllia Magenta, Ai Kakuma as Illya Coral, Shogo Sakata as Algard von Palletia, HinaYomiya as Lainie Cyan, and Yū Sasahara as Tilty Claret.
The anime is directed by Shingo Tamaki at Diomedéa, with Wataru Watari as the series composer and Naomi Ide as the character designer.
The show’s opening theme song “Arc-en-Ciel” is performed by HaNaTan and the ending theme song “Only For You” will be performed by Anisphia’s voice actress Sayaka Senbongi and Euphyllia’s voice actress Manaka Iwami.
Piero Karasu launched the original light novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō! website in February 2019 and was completed in June 2020. Kadokawa published the first print volume of the story with illustrations by Yuri Kisaragi in January 2020.
Yen Press releases both the light novel and its manga adaptation in English. The plot as described by Yen Press is:
“Despite her supposed ineptitude with regular magic, Princess Anisphia defies the aristocracy’s expectations by developing “magicology,” a unique magical theory based on memories from her past life.
One day, she witnesses the brilliant noblewoman Euphyllia unjustly stripped of her title as the kingdom’s next monarch. That’s when Anisphia concocts a plan to help Euphyllia regain her good name-which somehow involves them living together and researching magic!

The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady is a fantasy manga written by Piero Karasu and illustrated by Yuri Kisaragi. It first originated as a light novel in 2016.
The series has two female protagonists. One is Princess Anisphia, an oddball girl who isn’t compatible with magic but loves researching it.
Euphyllia on the other hand has prowess over magic and is a well-rounded individual. After Euphyllia is publicly embarrassed by the crown prince, Anisphia decides to take her in as a partner and practice magic together.
