Resident Evil Village’s Load Time on PS5 is Insanely Low

Resident Evil Village saw a cross platform demo release last week which was available to play for only 8 hours. But this did not deter YouTubers from creating comparisons among the different versions of the demo, the highlights of which remain the same: the game takes only 2 infinitesimal seconds to load on the PS5.

As showcased in a video uploaded by Digital Foundry, the PS5, when compared to previous gen consoles PS4 Pro and PS4, loads the upcoming horror title ridiculously fast. To give you a clearer idea, the PS5 loads the game in 2 seconds while the PS4 Pro and PS4 take a disappointingly long 30 seconds.

Additionally, the video also shows the resolution and frame rates of RE Village which were detailed by Capcom last week. Without ray tracing, the game projects at a cool 60fps no matter the graphical intensity. However, this is only seen in the 30-minute demo; whether the performance stays the same throughout the whole game is something we’ll find out when the game drops on May 7.

Resident Evil Village will be one of the first titles to make full use of next-gen hardware, and as of now, it seems like it’s going to do a very good job of it. If the loading time of the game is any indication, it seems that PS5 owners are in for a silky smooth gaming experience for any title that they choose to pick up in the future. As for the performance, the fact that RE Village manages 60 fps even without ray tracing is guaranteed to do wonders for the sales of not only the game, but also for the PS5.
