The wait is almost over. Alan Wake 2’s final expansion, The Lake House, has been shrouded in mystery until now. Yesterday’s trailer reveal, however, provided a glimpse into the dark, unsettling world that awaits players.
Although October was already known as the release month, we finally have a confirmed date for the game’s availability. Are you ready to dive in and face the horrors at the bottom of the lake?
1. Alan Wake 2 – The Lake House DLC Release Date
Remedy Entertainment’s highly anticipated expansion for Alan Wake 2, The Lake House, will be released on October 22nd at 8 AM EDT (5 AM PDT, 1 PM BST, 3 PM EEST, 9 PM JST). To access the thrilling conclusion of Alan Wake 2, players will need to own the Deluxe Edition or purchase the $20 Deluxe Edition upgrade, which includes both expansions and exclusive cosmetics.
A physical Deluxe Edition will also be available on October 22nd, featuring codes for Alan Wake Remastered, Alan Wake 2, and all DLC. It can be pre-ordered at Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy.
2. Alan Wake 2 – The Lake House DLC Launch Trailer
The Lake House, Alan Wake 2’s upcoming expansion, promises to amplify the horror and excitement. The expansion intertwines with Remedy’s 2019 hit, Control, and its upcoming sequel, deepening the narrative connections.
Players will step into the shoes of Agent Estevez, a key figure in Alan Wake 2’s narrative, now playable for the first time. Set in a Federal Bureau of Control research station on Cauldron Lake’s shores, The Lake House ramps up the horror elements with paint creatures emerging from walls, reanimated corpses, a new weapon, and lots of bloodshed, setting the stage for an even darker experience than the base game.
Game Director Kyle Rowley tells Xbox Wire, “There is a large open structure for the player to explore, secrets to discover and dangerous enemies to try and survive against. Narrative obviously plays a large role in the expansion – as it did in the main game – so it is definitely worth exploring and trying to locate the many narrative objects scattered throughout the environment.”

The Lake House expansion arrives on October 22nd, accessible via the main menu or story campaign, and is included with the Deluxe Edition. Standard Edition owners can upgrade to Deluxe to access Night Springs and The Lake House expansions. All players have been promised to receive quality-of-life updates with the release.
