Manga and anime are a major part of the lives of otakus, but more so now than ever because of the unending lockdown. In this situation, the ending of a manga will be more heartbreaking than usual.
According to the last issue of Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine, The Honor Student at Magic Highschool by Yu Mori will end in June.
It is a spinoff manga based on the light novel series Irregular at Magic High School by Tsutomu Satō. The Honor Student at Magic Highschool is serialized in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh and published by Kadokawa. The manga will reach its finale in the June 27th issue of the magazine.
The spinoff follows the storyline of the original series but from the perspective of Miyuki Shiba, Tatsuya’s sister. It was first published in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh in June 2012. It has been compiled into 10 tankōbon volumes, which have been licensed for North America by Yen Press.
The Irregular at Magic High School has been adapted into several different mangas that deal with different arcs of the main plot. These spinoffs have different artists and publishers and have even been adapted into anime. The very first adaptation covered the Enrollment Arc of the story, which was written by Fumino Hayashi and Tsuna Kitaumi. The latest arc of Yotsuba Succession is published by G Fantasy.
The Irregular at Magic High School has also been adapted into an anime, which was released in April 2014 in Japan under studio Madhouse. The second season of the anime was scheduled to air in July 2020, but it has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.
The Honor Student at Magic Highschool has been quite a magical field trip for us all, and we look forward to any other spinoffs that might get based on The Irregular at High School.
About Irregular at Magic High School
The story follows Tatsuya Shiba, a bodyguard to his sister Miyuki Shiba. Also, he is a candidate to succeed in the leadership of the Yotsuba clan, one of the Ten Master Clans that govern Japan’s magicians. They enroll in First High School, which segregates its students based on their magical abilities.
Miyuki is registered as a first-course student and is viewed as one of the best students, while Tatsuya is in the second course and considered to be magically inept. However, Tatsuya’s technical knowledge, combat abilities, and unique magic techniques cause people to view him as irregular to the school’s standardized rankings.
