Filled with chaotic and gripping moments, the trailer hints at a suspense-filled season. A teaser posted in February also mirrored the perilous journey June will have to go down after rebelling against Gilead.

Season 3 saw June become a handmaid to Commander Joseph Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) and take up the name Ofjoseph. Later, she is able to rescue many women and children and help them escape to Canada, even though the ending shows her getting shot in the woods.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 premieres on April 28, 2021.

Her acts of rebellion have put the government on the lookout for her. But June doesn’t seem to be in a flight and survival mode as she is on the hunt to exact justice upon the people who have wronged her.

The series is based on the dystopian novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood and takes place in an authoritarian society. The series is centered around the protagonist June Osborne, played by Elisabeth Moss. Being a fertile woman, she is made a “Handmaid” to a reproductively challenged couple, Commander Fred Waterford and his wife, Serena Joy.

As a concubine, she has to take the name of her master and thus is made to renounce her original name and become Offred. She later tries to escape to Canada to be reunited with her husband and daughter.

The series has received critical acclaim and been nominated for many awards, winning 8 Primetime Emmys. Further cast includes Yvonne Strahovski, Joseph Fiennes, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Alexis Bledel, and Samira Wiley, among many others.
