In the Season 4 finale, June finally escaped Gilead after killing her former master, commander Waterford. June’s escape and her husband’s death have unraveled Serena, and she is adamant about punishing June. Hannah remains in Gilead, and June will do anything to reunite with her daughter.

After getting rid of Commander Waterford, June continues her fight to find her daughter Hannah as Gilead’s influence expands in Canada.
June was able to free herself from Gilead, but now she will use her friends’ help to liberate the handmaids of the totalitarian society from the outskirts of the city in Canada.
June will be the key to turning the tide as she is the first handmaid who killed her Commander. But her actions will only add fuel to Gilead’s anger, which Serena will stoke to bring her down.
Fans can’t wait to see the fight between June and Serena, June and Hannah’s reunion, Serena’s final power play, and the final verdict of the handmaids in Gilead.

The first two episodes of the latest season of The Handmaid’s Tale will be released on September 14, 2022, at 12:00 A.M. ET.
3. Season 5 Schedule
Season 5 of The Handmaid’s Tale will release its first two episodes on September 2022. The remaining episode count hasn’t been disclosed yet, but the show will return with a new episode every Wednesday.
It can be assumed that Season 5 will not have more than ten episodes, and according to Hulu, the fifth season may be the last.

5. Season 4 Finale Recap
Commander Waterford, according to June, must pay for his crimes against her and Gilead. She wants him to feel the same fear and helplessness as the oppressed did at his hands. But when it looks like he might walk free with a plea deal, June is outraged and takes matters into her own hands.
She asks Mark to listen to her plan, and they meet with Commander Lawrence at Gilead’s borders. Lawrence strikes a bargain: 22 handmaids’ freedom for Fred’s return to Gilead. June obliges with Mark’s agreement, but she has one card left to play.
Fred, as June had wanted, is afraid of his predicament, and rightfully so. He has been transported to No Man’s Land, where June greets him and blows a whistle. Immediately, he is swarmed by Gilead’s refugee women and is beaten violently.
In the morning, June escapes Gilead after saying goodbye to an innocent Nichole and a horrified Luke. Meanwhile, Serena receives a package with Waterford’s wedding ring and a severed finger. On a wall in No Man’s Land, a body hangs beside the words “Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”

The Handmaid’s Tale is an American dystopian television series created by Bruce Miller for Hulu. It is based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel of the same name.
Set in the fictional dystopian state of Gilead, where fertile women are kept as “handmaids” and are subjected to child-bearing slavery, the series Offred (June Osbourne) and her fight for her freedom from Gilead, along with all the oppressed.
