This week, The Good Doctor wrapped its drama-filled mid-season finale where Perez relapses, Lea finds out she’s pregnant despite the risk it brings to her and her child, and Lim must make two life-altering decisions.
The episode also addresses Morgan and Park’s existing issues despite their breakup and Perez and Powell’s fight for the top spot as the new residents. Season 6 is now on a hiatus, but what can we expect when the show returns back?
1. Episode 10 Speculation/Theories
The mid-season finale has left many unanswered questions for the show to pick up when it returns from the hiatus. Let’s address a few of them!
Morgan and Park may have resolved their bad blood, but the underlying chemistry each time they disagree and their protectiveness over the other definitely screams some feelings still exist. Will they get back together in the next episode of The Good Doctor season 6?
Dr. Lim decided to go through the surgery to end her paralysis, but now with Clay’s proposal hanging, will the doctor stick to her decision? And what about the other answer – will she answer yes or no to Clay’s marriage proposal?
Shaun and Lea’s ordeals with having a child and starting a family have been great, but we can’t help but hold onto hope after finding out Lea is with child in the mid-season finale. But with Asherman’s syndrome complicating the process, the couple has a tough decision on their hands.
Even if they do end up going through with the pregnancy, it will up the ante on their stakes since it will risk Lea and her child’s life. We hope all ends well, but you know what they say about hoping for the best while expecting the worst, right?
Perez’s OD definitely took us by surprise, but his struggle with his addiction and Asher’s ominous doubts had prepared us a little to expect something horrible to occur to our new resident. While we’re hoping for better news to follow once season 6 returns, this will surely complicate Perez’s career and relationship with Jordan.
But all that depends if he survives, which we’ll know once the series is back from its hiatus. When will that be?

5. Episode 9 Recap
Dr. Shaun Murphy implements a new rating system, pitting the two new residents, Perez and Powell, in a fight to come out on top as the better newcomer. Doctors Powell and Perez treat a young bulimic Teddy, whose issues ring true with Perez. Danny helps Teddy make up with his brother, and Shaun throws out the rating system at the end of the day.
Dr. Lim agrees to the surgery to reverse her paralysis after much consideration, and her boyfriend Clay proposes to show his commitment towards her. Now Lim is left with two life-altering decisions she must make simultaneously. Morgan and Park bicker, but their chemistry is undeniable, and even Park’s new girlfriend can’t avoid it.
Lea and Shaun house-hunt, and Lea is adamant about buying a fixer-upper which Shaun disagrees with due to financial and health hazards. The two decide to be more communicative about their wants and fears, and later, Lea finds out she’s pregnant. She runs to Shaun in fear, but he assures her to keep her faith.
Perez invites Jordan to his house for an official first date, but Jordan finds Perez on the floor with a heroin syringe beside him, indicating an overdose.
