Crunchyroll, an anime producing company, has been quietly co-producing anime for years, but now they’re following in the footsteps of Netflix by marketing their own Crunchyroll Originals in 2020.
“Since our launch in 2006, Crunchyroll has been at the forefront of anime fandom and a driving force in the popularizing of this beloved genre worldwide.”
Joanne Waage, General Manager of Crunchyroll.
And it has been confirmed by the General Manager herself that the fan-favorite Manhwa webtoon about the story of Jin Mo-Ri, Han Dae-Wi, and Yu Mi-Ra — The God of High School would be one of them.
1. Release Date & Highlights
The God of High School, written by Yongje Park, garnered a lot of appreciation from both the critics and the readers.
The God of High School anime adaption of the webtoon has been confirmed by Crunchyroll. It has been scheduled to premiere on July 6, 2020.

2. Expected Storyline/Plot
The anime adaption of “The God of High School” is most probably going to have a storyline the same as that of its manhwa counterpart.
The story starts with a fighting tournament, called “God of High School” aka G.O.H. It is being organized by a renowned public figure and businessman — Park Mu-Jin for the school kids of Korea.
The winner would get his/her wish fulfilled by the organization, no questions asked.
The protagonist, Jin Mo-Ri, is invited to the tournament and faces many opponents with different styles of fighting and different types of powers.

4. Where to Watch The God of High School
Currently, there is no information on the streaming platforms as of now; we will update this section as soon as possible.
5. Key Visuals
Reddit User Karma110 shared this brand new poster showing off the hard-hitting heroes of the series.
The visual shows a lot of main characters from the manhwa — Jin Mo-Ri, Han Dae-Wi, Yu Mi-Ra, Park Il-Pyo, Taek Jae-Kal, and Jeon Ju-Gok.
Hence, we can speculate that we will be seeing more than just the initial stages of the tournament, that is, fans might get to see the glimpse of borrowed power by the end of season 1, if not the entire concept.
God of High School will most-likely be paced like the Tower of God and other Crunchyroll Originals for the above theories to make sense.
Another new Key Visual is out. And it looks amazing! Fans are now getting more excited about the show as each day passes.
Character Designs
Needless to say that the trailer is jaw-dropping! And it also supports my previous theory that we will likely see more than just the initial stages.
Crunchyroll on Monday released a super fresh trailer of God of High School, making fans more and more excited about its release in July 2020.
And the trailer shows that the show is going to be packed with not just action but emotion as well. With every character having a reason to fight, a reason to win!
The trailer shows all the major characters from the first season of the Manhwa — the protagonist trio (Jin Mo-Ri, Han Daw-Wi, Yoo Mi-Ra), Jin Tae-Jin (Mori’s Grandpa), Park Mu-Jin(Bong)(the owner of G.O.H.), named executives (S, P, Q, O, R), and well Gang Man-Suk.
The animation, VA, Character Design, everything seems to be on point in the trailer.
Crunchyroll has done a commendable job with a trailer, without revealing the plot, they managed to show all the key points and characters in the trailer.
There was the heart-warming scene between Mo-Ri and his grandpa, the icnoic bike thief scene where Mi-Ra, Mo-Ri, and Dae-Wi meet for the first time, and of course, the clash between Gang Man-Suk and Jin Mo-Ri!
A teaser trailer was also released.
The teaser shows one of the most epic moments of the G.O.H. tournament — Jin Mo-Ri defeating Gang Man-Suk with just one kick.
Another trailer was recently added which shows the most epic matches from the first God of High School tournament from the webtoon.
The final trailer before the premiere is out! And it is equally powerful as the trailers released before. The video features the opening theme song “Contradiction feat. Tyler Carter” and band CIX’s ending theme song “WIN.” The video presents all the final cast & staff of the show.
