3. Recap of Episode 7
Goto Kenji was a mentor for the Ring of Hearts youth organization, and he met with an unfortunate accident during fieldwork. After he recovered from the fall, the doctor discovered a lot of brain damage that completely altered his personality.
The Humanoid Rights group wants to use neural networks to help him, but the family refuses. His son, Satonji, brings Goto to Sudo, where he scans his brain and says he could be healed. Although they could install prostheses, some data would still be physically unrecoverable.
After pressure from the Humanoid Rights group, Goto comes into Hikaru’s clinic for surgery. After waking up, Goto starts getting wildly violent and hitting his son. They assume something went wrong with the surgery, but Satonji reveals that he’s always been like this.
The story moves to the customer service sector, dominated by AI and Humanoids. However, angry customers are very insistent on talking to a human. The added stress level on the Humanoids grows worse and worse until they break down.
The company brings in a new batch of robots to handle problematic customers. They follow the manual blindly without taking in the customer’s emotional state. When the customer reaches the peak of his anger, they begin the act.
One of the robots attacks their partner, accusing him of talking to the customer rudely. The sudden switch in the situation shocks the customer and calms him down. The issues become controversial on the news, but Sudo doesn’t take sides.
