One upcoming anime that’s making quite a buzz is “The Fruit of Evolution,” a series that doesn’t even pretend to have a serious plot.
The story centers around an isekai-ed guy who dates a gorilla that somehow evolves into a girl. Truthfully, even though the years of isekai anime have made me quite numb to these kinds of plots, the genre is getting into untested waters this year.
And there is no streaming service better than Crunchyroll to bring this crazy show to us.
Through its official website, Crunchyroll announced last Tuesday that Miku and U35’s “The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made” will stream on the platform from October 4, 2021.

The news comes as part of Crunchyroll’s Fall 2021 line up which included many more shows such as Blade Runner: Black Lotus, 86, and Restaurant to Another World 2, among many others.
Additionally, The Fruit of Evolution anime’s official site also released a synopsis of the first episode, which reads:
Seiichi Hiiragi, a fat and ugly high school student, was bullied since he was a child and lived a dull life, but a turning point came one day. When a mysterious voice broadcasted on the school speakers sent Seiichi to another world.
Thrown into this new world, Seiichi struggled and was on the verge of death due to starvation until he came across the fruit of evolution and evolved into a handsome new being.
Well, calling out its protagonist as “fat and ugly” sure seems to give us the gist of what’s about to come in the anime. This level of self-aware humor is sure to tickle quite a few bones out there.
