The last we saw of Seiichi from ‘The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made’ was the hero traveling to Barbador Magic Academy to become a teacher.
As they bid farewell to the people of Wimburg and the kingdom they saved, the protagonists were out and about to start their new adventure. At the end of the episode, we see the Demon Lord’s minions hatching a plan to attack the academy.
‘The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made’ sequel anime’s new trailer shows Seiichi and Saria struggling against a demon, leading to the latter getting fatally attacked.
Along with this, the trailer also revealed the sequel anime’s January 2023 premiere. It also reveals the new title, ‘True: The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made’ (Shin Shinka no Mi ~Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei~).
After recapping the last season, the trailer shows a dreadful fight between Seiichi and the demon Destra. Unlike the first, the sequel is portrayed as a more serious and dangerous one.
Amid the duel, Saria runs to her lover’s aid and takes Destra by surprise, giving the protagonists an upper hand. However, Destra is unlike any other demon and comes back stronger by landing a fatal blow on Saria, much to Seiichi’s horror.
Destra’s character is filled with arrogance and confidence, so who better than Miyuki Sawashiro to play the role? Miyuki has also been cast as Fujiko Mine in the Lupin series and as Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter.

About The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made
It is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Miku and illustrated by U35. After the novel began its serialization online, it was acquired by Futabasha and has published fourteen volumes since September 2014.
The story follows a high school recluse named Seiichi Hiiragi, who is transported to another world. Upon a chance encounter with a Gorilla, he decides to be in a relationship with the said Gorilla and uses “The Fruit of Evolution” to change his destiny.
