In last week’s episode, Team Flash is terrorized by the menacing supervillain Deathstorm, who traps them in S.T.A.R Labs by heating up the walls and accumulating raw grief for himself to feed off by making everyone come face to face with people they’ve lost. Meanwhile, in Coast City, Sue and Iris are similarly terrorized by a vision of Eddie. In a final battle, Frost transforms into Hellfrost and defeats Deathstorm but loses her own life in the process.

The Flash Season 8 Episode 14 Speculation
The battle between Deathstorm and Hellfrost results in Hellfrost ripping the amplification device from Deathstorm and draining his powers herself. However, this battle leads to Frost’s demise.

The Flash Season 8 Episode 13 Recap
Iris and Sue try to deal with Eddie in Coast City while Team Flash tries to tackle Deathstorm back at S.T.A.R labs. Deathstorm starts to target every member of Team Flash since he needs more raw energy to feed off in order to complete his transformation. As the Team is faced with the emotionally heavy task of coming face to face with people from their lives that they’ve lost, Deathstorm takes on Frost.
Deathstorm mocks Frost by calling her an echo of a person as she can’t produce the same type of raw grief for him to feed off. Deathstorm traps everyone into confronting visions of their lost loved ones and heats up the walls so they can’t escape, all while feeding off the grief. Meanwhile, in Coast City, Eddie similarly heats up Sue’s phone to keep her from contacting someone for help.
Frost starts to question whether Deathstorm was right about her but Chillblaine, who arrives at S.T.A.R labs to assist her, reassures her and tries to help amplify her cold fusion power. The amplification however doesn’t work initially but when Chillblaine points out that Frost must allow herself to experience grief, she does so and transforms into the more powerful Hellfrost. She uses her new abilities to dissipate Deathstorm’s visions in both Central and Coast City.
