The Flash Season 8 Episode 12 Recap
While Caitlin believed her late husband Ronnie to be trapped in Black Flame, he reveals himself to be a deadly villain by the name of Deathstorm—an entity from a different dimension that had bonded itself to Ronnie when he sacrificed his life. Deathstorm attacks Caitlin, and Barry enters the scene just in time but his attacks are not strong enough and the villain escapes easily. Caitlin exclaims that their attempts to stop Deathstorm so far have only made him stronger.
Meanwhile, Iris resurfaces and Barry rushes to reunite with his wife. They realize that Iris stopped herself from fading permanently by entering the Still Force. Her illness appears to be more serious than they initially thought. Before they can discuss the matter further, Barry gets alerted that Deathstorm has gone on a massive killing spree throughout Central City and the police can’t seem to pinpoint his current location.
Barry realizes that Team Flash might be able to locate the villain if they use Cecile’s empathic powers to trace potential victims as Deathstorm only targets those with raw feelings of overwhelming grief. However, this plan backfires when Cecile gets her body temporarily taken over by Deathstorm and he vows to kidnap Caitlin.
