We’re still more than a month away before we get deeper into The Witcher land, but we know Jaskier’s going to be our savior. Just like in Season 1.
After an almost flawless marketing setup, Netflix released a solo poster of everyone’s favorite bard, Jaskier.
The poster was tweeted with a Halloween-themed caption saying, “My presence is a present. Trick or treat!” Fans are already calling for “Jaskier supremacy,” and well, we agree too.
Perfectly capturing Jaskier’s fun personality, the poster has him spoofing the three main characters of the show—Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer, and Ciri. He takes their place with similar intense looks while wielding a sword and wearing The Witcher’s armor.
It is a parody of the main poster revealed a couple of days ago. The tagline in the main poster states, “Destiny is a beast.” Jaskier’s poster takes it up a notch, making himself the main character, saying, “Destiny is a bard.”
Check out Jaskier’s solo poster below:
Netflix first quote-retweeted their main poster, teasing fans that there’s something amiss in the photo. Many fans demanded it to be Jaskier, while others photoshopped Geralt’s horse in it. The account then released a real Jaskier poster, making fans go wild under the tweet’s reply section.
The Witcher Season 2 will see the bard’s return, as the trailer suggests Geralt rescues him (yet again) from a prison.
The sequel will also see a whole new herd of characters, along with some old ones, making us wonder where Jaskier would fit in the storyline. Granted, Jaskier hasn’t been one of the series’ main characters, but he has been a good friend, moral support, and provided comic relief.
In Season 1, Geralt had no one beside him, and the bard seemed to fit perfectly as the sidekick. With Ciri’s responsibility on his shoulders, would Jaskier still be the comic and emotional relief? Or will he have a more critical role?
As new questions arise (thanks to the jam-packed trailer) about the bard’s future, the answers will finally be revealed on December 17 on Netflix.
