Just like Gintama, the sci-fi anime will end with a final film to the Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution film series, thereby completing the trilogy.

But let’s just keep away the sorrows for now and focus on the upcoming film that will hit Japanese theatres in Summer 2021. It will take us to the final battle to safeguard the future of humanity.

The franchise’s official website has already revealed a second teaser trailer and a teaser visual for the final film titled EUREKA/Kōkyōshihen Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution.

The trailer video previews some intense battle scenes that we can expect from the film. Kaori Nazuka, Eureka’s voice actor, narrates the teaser with the film’s tagline: “A girl’s ending. A girl’s beginning.”

The teaser visual shows us the view of the city, which looks much like a concrete jungle, filled with the highest skyscrapers. It also features a ring falling from the sky.

Fans were a little disappointed with the first two films since they mostly comprised of old footages. But the franchise has this one last chance left to compensate for it.

The upcoming film is expected to come up with beautifully animated mecha fights with some heart-warming moments, and we must always recognise the people who make this possible.

The second film centers on Anemone, a girl who lost her father in a battle in Toyko seven years prior to the film’s story. Later she becomes a key part of a strategy by the experimental unit “Acid” to combat the seventh Eureka.

The third and final film will pick up from where the prequel film ended.

With anime like Evangelion and Darling in the FranXX dominating the genre, this last film will be an essential step in ensuring that the anime gets recognized in the years to come.
