William and his friends take a day off and prepare for their upcoming battle against the dragon Valacirca. After a cheerful day, Will reminisces about Mary and Blood as he asks for their blessing.
The next day, not too long after they set on their journey, they encounter enemies. Serpents attack them all of a sudden at the river. After dealing with them, many undead try to hold onto their boat. Will cleanses their soul, and they move forward.
Next, near the end of the episode, the party comes face to face with a hydra, which was attacking an elven boy. They kill the hydra and save the elven boy, who faints after saying something about their village.

2. Episode 8 Speculation
Near the end of episode 7, the elven boy Menel tried to protect faints after uttering something about his village. From his condition, we can assume that his village is in danger.
So our heroes might have to take a detour before going to fight the dragon. But what kind of danger awaits them at the Elven village? Is it the same demons that corrupted the river or a new adversary?
To know exactly how much this detour will affect their mission of slaying the dragon, we have to wait for Episode 8 next week.
3. Recap of Episode 7
Episode seven of The Faraway Paladin starts with William and Grendir having a heart-to-heart conversation about their lives. Gren says how he feels like he dragged Will into this, but Will denies that, saying if he abandoned all this, he could never stand in front of his parents again.
A while later, Menel returns with a deer he hunted for dinner. The group jokes around at the table as they eat their meal. Will spends the rest of the night reminiscing about Mary and Blood and ends up visiting their grave. Gus warns him about the dangers of going after the dragon Valacirca.
The next day, they set on their journey. Only after going halfway do, they realize something is wrong with the river. As they understand that the cause behind this change is the demons who used the ‘words of taboo’, they get ready for a fight.
Suddenly, serpents attack the party from all sides. As they defended against them, one serpent drags Will down in the water. He manages to fend off the serpents attacking him and resurface. He then casts an enchantment to take care of the Serpents at once.
As they move forward, some undead try to hold onto their boat, but Will quickly uses his blessing of the goddess Gracefeel to cleanse them. After the cleansing is done, Menel suddenly rushes everyone to go forward and leaves the boat on his own.
When the other party members reach the shore, they find Menel fighting a hydra in an attempt to save an injured elf. The heroes hold back the Hydra while Menel protects the elven boy. All of them successfully defeat the hydra. But can the boy be saved after getting bitten by it?
