Episode eight of the anime The Faraway Paladin starts with Will and Menel helping the villagers rebuild their homes.
To get some money for the villagers and themselves, the two go off to loot some ruins, and on the way back, they meet a merchant and a halfling bard. They are going to Whitesails, and Will and Menel tag along for the journey.
The bard sings the tale of the sage, the warrior, and the healer. Will is reminded of the family he left behind and becomes teary-eyed. He reaches the shores of Whitesails in no time. Will he get to meet the elf lady in the story?
Episode 9 Speculations
The bard song by Robina was a cool way to stir in Gus, Blood, and Mary’s backstories. Their legends of battling a wyvern and saving kids still live on. It also gave us insight into what they were like before turning into the undead.
The story about the old elf lady who is still waiting for the trio that saved her is so intriguing, and fans can’t wait to see this bit woven into Will’s adventures.

Episode 8 Recap
Menel, Will, and the villagers are working hard to rebuild their homes. The villagers have very little wares to spare and no money. The villagers would be making their way to buy from a port town called Whitesails.
Will suggests they go and explore ruins to find some loot. On the way back, they encounter an old hawker and halfling running away from a giant ape. Will saves them and, in return, tags along with them on their journey to Whitesails.
As they travel from town to town, Robina, the halfling, sings on the streets to earn money while Antonio, the hawker, sets up shop to sell his wares. Antonio even asks Will to heal a child’s wound and makes a sale in return.
On the wheat road, they find a barn to rest at for the night. Robina decides to put on a show for the newbies. She sings them the song of the brilliant sage, the mighty warrior, and the healer princess of old.
Will is glad that Gus, Blood, and Mary, who cared for him and raised him, haven’t been forgotten by the world. Will decides he wants to travel to learn more about the world and make friends along the way.
As the wheat road ends, Robina shows Will the sea and the city that lies over yonder- Whitesails. What adventures will he run into this time?
