Episode 12 of The Faraway Paladin starts with Will getting away in the darkness of the night. Menel catches him in the act and lectures him about friendship and how letting your idiot of a friend run away is not in the contract.
Will is convinced in no time and returns with him to the rest of the gang. Here, Reystov informs them that they’ll return to the valley and exterminate the demons. Here are the latest updates.
Episode 13 Speculations
The way Will and Menel took care of the Chimera was admirable. Neither of them seemed less powerful than the other. When they’re done, they see Reystov standing over the corpse of a dragon.
Come to think of it, we’ve never seen a single worthwhile fight that showcased Reystov’s skills. He’s called Reystov the penetrator, but we’ve never seen him in action. Hopefully, it’ll be put right next season.
The following season is likely to see Will deal with the political aspect of things. He might become the head of a village, but how will he break the news to Ethelbald? Moreover, how will humans consolidate the south?

Episode 12 Recap
Will tries to make a getaway in the night but is stopped by Menel, who’s all healed hanks to him. Menel asks him what he thinks he’s doing. He tells him that he’s going off to kill some demons alone.
When asked why he’s going alone, Will tells him it’s not like Menel’s a strong enough monster like him. Menel tries to stop him by hitting him physically.
After taking a few hits, Will fights back and calculates that if he breaks Menel’s arm, it might make Menel think he means it. He continues to fight, though.
Eventually, he wears Will down with his talk about friends being there for each other. They go back to their lair and explain everything. Reystov says that happens to people who are too powerful.
They return to the valley where the demons attacked them, and they killed every last one of them. Menel and Will make their way to the abandoned monastery where the chimera is and defeat it too.
They talk of how the people will have peaceful lives now that the demons in that area have been killed. Menel points out how he’s technically the lord of a village, now that he’s killed demons, given the people resources, helped flourish economic activity by giving them money.
On top of that, the villagers will open a shrine devoted to Goddess Gracefeel. Will thinks this is the work he was meant to do.
