It’s the dawn of a new chapter in Cid’s life as he leaves the Midgar kingdom in order to understand his goals and himself better. He wants to find out what it actually means to be “The Eminence in Shadow”. On the other hand, Rose is suffering to deal with the trauma of having to murder her father.
She embarks on her first mission as a member of the Shadow Garden. Originally it was a recon mission, but the team leader, number 559, Victoria loses her cool and decides to engage in battle with the enemy. Rose is shocked to see her mother with the enemies and, out of impulse, betrays her team to save her.

No, Season 2 of “The Eminence in Shadow” is not on a break this week. Episode 10 is not delayed and will be released on the above-stated date.
2. Episode 10 Speculation
With the John Smith arc’s end and the beginning of the Oriana Kingdom arc, one of our heroines, Rose Oriana, will get the main focus now. After hearing about her decision to marriage, Shadow rushes to find her as he’s in utter disbelief. He was under the impression that Rose killed her father in order to be the next ruler of the Kingdom. So, this will surely prompt him to know why Rose made such a decision.
The next episode will show us a confrontation between Rose and Shadow where a lot of information about the kingdom, about Rose’s past and her current intentions may come to light. Knowing her, it’s hard to believe that she’ll just submit to the pervert, but the trauma of having to kill her father might have taken a heavy toll on her so it’s hard to say anything for sure now.
3. Recap of Episode 9
Episode 9 was the beginning of a new adventure. After all the chaos regarding John Smith and Shadow’s betrayal, settled down, Cid is now in the Oriana Kingdom. After so long, we see the princess and Shadow Garden’s newest recruit, Rose Oriana.
She is still recovering from the trauma of having to kill her own father. She gets summoned by number 559, Victoria, for a recon mission along with two more members.
Victoria is rumored to be nearly as strong as one of the seven shadows. Later it’s revealed that aside from the seven, She and Rose are the only ones that received their powers directly from Shadow.
During the mission, the team tails the enemy and reaches some ruins. They spot one of the cult’s leaders activating the ruins, which summons a glyph. To Rose’s shock, she suddenly sees her mother with the enemies. The queen helps them activate the glyph and obtain the “Key”.
Victoria tells the others to prepare for battle, but as she’s about to attack the queen, Rose stops her blade. Victoria immediately flags her as a rogue agent and tries to finish both of them together.
The point of view switches to Cid, who’s sitting at Mary’s Cafe, thinking about his own life and future goals. He wonders what it actually means to be the eminence in shadow since he’s just been doing anything that he sees fit as the one who lurks in the shadows.
Some bandits raid Mary’s cafe to steal her money. Cid acts as if he’s trying to stand against them but quickly gets beaten by them. As a result of his act, Mary couldn’t ask him to pay for his food. Later, he finds their hideout and retrieves all the loot. He drops one bag of gold in front of Mary’s cafe to help her, but knowing his character, it might just have fallen from his pocket.
We once again see Victoria, who’s been fighting the enemies non-stop for three days and three nights, but even she has her limits. Just when an exhausted Victoria is about to die in the enemy boss’ hand Shadow arrives there and saves them.
Victoria tells him about Rose’s betrayal, but Shadow who was originally here to find some treasure, doesn’t pay much attention to her words when suddenly a flyer falls on his head. Shadow gets to know about Rose’s decision to marry Perv Asshat from the flyer. In utter disbelief, Rage Shadow rushes towards the capital of Oriana Kingdom.

The Eminence in Shadow, a manga by Daisuke Aizawa, started serialization in 2018. It is scheduled to receive an anime in October 2022. An anime film, titled ‘The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes,’ was announced in December 2023.
Cid, the protagonist, is obsessed with becoming a hidden mastermind. Being reincarnated in an isekai world gives him the chance to act on his wishes and build up his power beyond the notice of people.
After rescuing an elf, he forms a squad who are supposed to fight the Diabolos cult which is just a figment of his imagination. However, the cult turns out to be true and now he actually has an enemy to face.
