The trailer for the movie was revealed back in April 2021 and it gave us a view of the artwork and the virtual world of U around which the movie’s plot is created.

It teased a picture of Belle, Suzu’s avatar in the world of U, the dragon and other supporting characters.
The trailer is truly mesmerizing and Belle’s singing in the background is the cherry on top!
Along with the release date, the studio also revealed the additional cast and characters of the movie. A special mention to Rira Ikuta, YOASOBI’s vocalist, who is making her debut in voice acting.

The cast and staff lineup looks beyond amazing and I honestly can’t wait to watch this blockbuster.
The plot is based on Disney’s original classic Beauty and the Beast with the twist of virtual reality and anime elements. Moreover, the artwork is so different from what we have seen in previous Hosoda movies!
It combines the elements of a Disney movie and an anime and I still don’t know how but it looks ethereal.
And honestly, I cannot wait for the movie to come out!

Belle: The Princess of Dragons and Freckles is an upcoming original anime film by Mamoru Hosoda. Studio Chizu is animating it.
The film’s plot follows Suzu, a 17-year-old girl who had lost her mother at an early age. She enters a virtual world name “U” as an avatar, Belle.
