Sadao meets with an old friend in episode 9 of The Devil is a Part-Timer!! Season 3 titled “The Devil Vomits.”

Along with Suzuno, Sadao roams Ente Isla’s border on his scooter while narrowly avoiding church patrol groups. They keep a low cover and camp out in tents during the night. One fateful day, Albert Ende runs into them and catches up.

Emi and Ashiya are in a massive war between Ente Isla and the demons. While both are on opposite sides, the entire farce is being controlled by a third party.

Suzuno has finally started realizing something suspicious is happening because Sadao still hasn’t reverted to his demon form. The church is likely behind all of it since they predicted the arrival of Satan to help Emi.

Since Acieth is also affected by Sadao’s energy, it may be targeted at Satan himself and not the others. Unless Acieth or Emi find a way out of the grasp of Olba and Gabriel, it may be doomed for them all.

3. Recap of Episode 9

Emi speeds through her daily routine, quickly going through everything she’s used to and all the people in her life. At the end of the vision, Satan wakes her up with a blade to her head. Outside the gate, Chi waits for Satan and Suzuno to get back.

Since it’s night-time, they begin working on setting up the tent. Sadao chats with Acieth about her past, and Suzuno sneaks up on them with her new outfit. She wears some church vestments that’ll help her blend in with the others in town.

They drive around on their mopeds the following days while avoiding patrol groups. Meanwhile, Olba takes Emi to hunt down demons in Efzahan. Suzuno asks Satan why he invaded Ente Isla as the Demon King all those years ago.

He talks about his past, where he wanted to change the world. He made a demonic kingdom and invaded enemy territory but ran into a shortage of magic power. To create fear and despair for demons to feed on, he invaded Ente Isla and fed his underlings.

The following morning, Emi tries to spare the lives of the Malebranche by inviting them to surrender. Olba refuses to allow any demons to survive and orders a massacre. Alciel is placed on the throne of the demons by Gabriel and is ordered to wait there.

Albert Ende runs into Sadao and Suzuno’s tent and catches them up on all the church’s events so far. Alciel meets with Barbariccia and the other generals and scolds them for their actions. He asks to see Nord and finds out he doesn’t have a holy sword.

Sadao commands Acieth to transform into the sacred sword, but he gets sick. Suzuno starts connecting the dots and notices that although they’re in Ente Isla, Sadao never returns to his original form.

The Devil Is a Part-Timer! is a Japanese light novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara, with illustrations by Oniku (written as 029). ASCII Media Works has published the series in Japan, while Yen Press has published the series in North America.

The story revolves around the Demon Lord Satan after he is stuck in the human world. Satan loses against the hero Emilia in his homeworld Ente Isla. He then takes one of his subordinates – Alciel and transports himself to the human world, where he is left powerless due to the lack of magic.

Both Satan and Alciel take human forms, and Satan takes up a part-time job at a fast-food restaurant to earn a living. Things get even more complicated once Emilia arrives under the guise of a human named Emi Yusa. This light-hearted comedy explores the interactions of “evil” and “good.”
