The Devil is a Part-Timer! Ending Soon, Volume 21 Release Date

Satoshi Wagahara’s The Devil is a Part-Timer! light novel series comically explores the interaction between “evil” and “good” in the form of Demon Lord Satan and Hero Emilia. The story made its debut in 2011 under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko light-novel label.

With a total of 20 volumes released, and one more on the way, The Devil is a Part-Timer! light-novel series is coming to an end. Volume 21, the final volume of the light novel series, will be published by Yen Press and shipped on 7th August, 2020.

Its 20th volume was released on 7th December, 2018. The final volume of the series was supposed to be shipped on 10th July; however, it was postponed due to production issues caused by COVID-19.

The light-novel has also been adapted into a manga, an anime and has even inspired a spin-off series titled “The Devil Is a Part-Timer! High School!” A 13-episode long season, animated by White Fox studio, aired in 2013.

The manga series has a total of 16 volumes released so far, out of which 15 have been released in English as well. The manga also serializes in the monthly Dengeki Daioh magazine.

The Devil Is a Part-Timer! is a Japanese light novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara, with illustrations by Oniku (written as 029). ASCII Media Works has published the series in Japan, while Yen Press has published the series in North America.

The story revolves around the Demon Lord Satan after he is stuck in the human world. Satan loses against the hero Emilia in his homeworld Ente Isla. He then takes one of his subordinates – Alciel and transports himself to the human world where he is left powerless due to the lack of magic.

Both Satan and Alciel take human forms, and Satan takes up a part-time job at a fast-food restaurant to earn a living. Things get even more complicated once Emilia arrives under the guise of a human named Emi Yusa. This light-hearted comedy explores the interactions of “evil” and “good.”
