In episode 4, Kimi protected Yui from being assassinated during her concert and solved her case. However, he held her accountable for putting Nagisa and his life in danger. She admitted to having tried to kill them to protect the possession that was closest to her.

The Detective Is Already Dead episode 5 is titled “That Was Directed at One Year in the Future.”

It seems that Kimi is just going to keep increasing his number of allies. After solving Yui’s case, they agreed to be on mutually agreeable terms and work with each other. 

Not only that but now Siesta’s underling, Char, has come to search for Kimi. 

Before she died, Siesta forced Kimi and her to be on good terms so they could make up for each other’s weaknesses. So I hope we get to see them team up and solve multiple cases even though they have their differences.

It will be quite an emotional moment when Char realizes that Siesta lives on in Nagisa.

Recap of Episode 4

Episode 4, titled “What I see in That Eye,” starts off with Kimi and Nagisa rushing to Yui’s concert. 

They somehow break through security and reach the arena. Upon reaching there, they realize that Yui is still far away from them and the person trying to assassinate her could be anywhere. 

Kimi and Nagisa split to search for the culprit. However, it is of no use as it is impossible to search for a single person in such a huge crowd.

Kimi then decides to use Bat’s powers to identify the heartbeat of the assassin. Thus, revealing his location. 

Even after knowing the location, there is nothing they could do. Kimi rushes to the stage where Yui is performing to save her from the bullet. As he approaches her, a security guard blocks his way, but Nagisa takes him down. 

Luckily Kimi saves Yui in time, and she is very thankful to him. However, when Kimi meets Yui later, he blatantly calls her out for endangering Kimi and Nagisa’s lives as they planted a bomb at the place they were supposed to guard. 

Yui admits to having been manipulated by SPES because if she did not comply, they would take away her most prized possession, her sapphire eye. 

The episode ends with Nagisa and Kimi extending a hand of friendship towards Yui as they are all targets and can help each other.
