Himari starts living with Aoi and his ayakashis in episode 2 of ‘The Demon Prince of Momochi Household’ titled “Mayoiga.” Despite living with Aoi now, Himari still has a lot of questions. She knows nothing about her parents or how Aoi ended up in the Momochi Household.

Trying to help Aoi only got Himari in trouble, but she realized that Aoi was hurting. However, she is powerless. To make things worse, she finds out that in her place, Aoi is bound to the Momochi House instead.

2. Episode 3 Speculation

Himari is now back for good with a newfound determination. Her goal is to find a way to get Aoi out of the house. Since he is bound to the house instead of Himari, she will try her best to free him. 

However, Aoi had already tried to find a way before he ultimately gave up, so Himari must work really hard. 

Another character has been watching over Himari and Aoi’s new life. We will most likely learn more about this mysterious figure yet to be introduced.

3. Recap of episode 2

Himari wakes up to Aoi sleeping beside her and screams, hitting him in surprise. She questions why he was there and is creeped out when he says it was because she was warm.

Himari demands rent from the trio and realizes they have been living without money. Ise gives her a lizard for rent, and she screams at him to get out, effectively pushing him out of the house. The house responds to Himari as she is the rightful owner.

Himari still does not know who her parents are, and the mysteries surrounding Aoi just keep increasing. Himari gets lost inside her house, accidentally witnessing Aoi in pain, and demands the truth.

Aoi was chosen to be Omamori and was granted the form of Nue after proving worthy. If Himari got to the Momochi house before Aoi, she would have been Omamori. However, Aoi refuses to tell her why she is so important to him.

Himari gets lured in by a voice telling her that one bite of cherry blossom fruit can help heal Aoi. However, when Himari touches the fruit, the tree becomes an ayakashi and attacks.

Aoi turns into Nue, and his shikigamis defeat the ayakashi. Even the tame ayakashi crave Momochi blood, which makes them violent. Aoi collapses after exerting himself, and Himari is upset, but to feel better, Aoi just wants Himari to be happy.

Himari tries to take Aoi for flower-watching, but Aoi cannot leave the Momochi house. After becoming Omamori, Aoi’s existence was erased from the outside world. Himari is upset, but Aoi reassures her that he is happy where he is.

Yukari reveals that Aoi frantically searched for a way out when he was a kid, but after a while, he gave up and accepted his fate. Himari feels guilty because Aoi took her place, but exchanging places won’t make Aoi happy.

Yukari and Ise ask Himari to leave, and she runs into a teacher from her school. He gives her advice, and Himari makes up her mind. Himari returns and promises Aoi she will find a way to get him out of the house.

On her 16th birthday, Himari inherits a haunted house. The house is already occupied by three young men who warn her to leave.
