3. Recap of Episode 11

Stuck in a highly awkward group meeting with many classmates, Ichikawa finds hell on earth. As the holidays roll out, Ichikawa visits his family back in Akita and is still texting Yamada from there. As he tries to get a picture of the mountains, he trips and falls from a cliff and fractures his arm.

After sending a selfie with the fractured arm, he gets himself a video call from Yamada at night but gets caught by his sister and tries to make up a cover story. He leaves the room after his sister goes back to sleep and calls again, having a late-night convo about their day.

On the ride home after souvenir shopping, his sister starts grilling him about Yamada and even tries to give him advice. Immediately after stepping out of the house, he runs into Yamada with her dog, and they walk to the park together, where they spend time catching up.

He finally gets the courage to give Yamada the souvenir of the Akita dog he brought, and she loves it. Creating more plans day by day, they realize that they’ve been texting every single day. However, returning today, the other friends start grilling Ichikawa about Yamada.

However, contrary to the old him, he ignores all their remarks and requests to get Yamada’s line. After the meet, however, Ichikawa desperately wants to hear her voice and calls her immediately, much to her surprise, and wishes her a happy new year.

Moeko enters the room and interrupts their call, which flusters Ichikawa, who hangs up on the spot—especially considering the entire conversation he had with her on the walk back to her house and the first time that he was able to verbalize his feelings for Yamada.
