Yamada asks Ichikawa if he uses Line, a texting app, and suggests sending him some funny stickers, which he politely declines. He shows his insecurity as they talk about the possibility of a class group chat, which he was conveniently left out of.

Meanwhile, the girl’s groups discuss strategies to get a boyfriend and settle on exchanging Line IDs’ with everyone, and Yamada is assigned to one of the most popular boys in class. Ichikawa overhears the whole thing getting even more jealous day by day.

Eventually, his dense self finally realizes that Yamada had been trying to exchange Line ids’ from the start of the day, which he conveniently missed. The whole girl’s group is starting to make Yamada depressed, and as she sits alone in the library, Ichikawa comes to the rescue.

Ichikawa tries not to be around Yamada when other people are nearby, assuming they’ll start rumors and hurt her feelings. However, Yamada hates that and eventually makes a move pulling him closer when Haruya and the others walk in.

The entire situation makes Ichikawa overthink the whole situation, eventually making him assume he is being used to shake Haruya off. Angry based on his assumptions, he begins avoiding her and finally ticks her off.

Following him after school, she immediately confronts him and apologizes if she did something wrong. Eventually, bursting into tears, Ichikawa realizes that he always knew that Yamada wasn’t someone that would take advantage of her. It was just his self-esteem issues. Clearing it up, she hugs him in relief.

Walking back home together, everything is back to normal as they talk about meaningless things like they used to. Ichikawa also returns the borrowed manga and talks about everything he liked about it.
