The CW’s martial arts drama series, Kung Fu, just got an action-packed trailer ahead of its return this March.
In the one-minute trailer, we meet Nicky Shen (Olivia Liang) once again as she faces off against her long-lost cousin Mia (Vanessa Yao), the daughter of a Guardian and a Warrior who’s working with the crime boss Russell Tan (Kee Chan).
Mia’s entry is, as Tan calls it, “The key to everything.” As the two have a confrontation, Mia show’s off her martial art chops to a baffled Nicky.
As Nicky prepares to take one of Russell’s important men down, she’s warned not to pick fights with criminals. But Nicky isn’t one to back down to face new enemies as well as with familiar faces. When Mia questions who she is, she replies, “I’m family.”
Kung Fu is the modern-day retake of the classic 1970s martial arts drama, adapted by Christina M. Kim. Season 1 concluded with Nicky defeating Zhilan as she was chained away in handcuffs. It’s not the end for the villain, though, as actress Yvonne Chapman has become a series regular for the upcoming season.
Recently, Deadline revealed new cast members Vanessa Yao, Annie Q. and JB Tadena being added to recurring roles for season 2.
Yao’s Mia is the daughter of Nicky’s dead aunt Mei-Xue, who was raised in extreme isolation. Mia’s hybrid bloodline could either make her “a valuable ally” to Nicky to fight Tan or a dangerous enemy if she sides with the villainous crime boss.
Annie Q.’s Juliette Tan has been described as Russell’s “clever and conniving” daughter. Whereas Tadena’s Sebastian is Harmony Dumplings’ talented new chef, whose success will threaten Jin and Mei-Li.
Kung Fu returns with season 2 on Wednesday, March 9 at 9/8c on The CW.

About I’m Standing on a Million Lives Season 2 Ep 7: Release Date, Speculation
Episode 6 broke us with Thanzamar’s tragic death, who sacrificed his life for keeping the ship away from the lave. Thankfully, the massive fire-breathing dragon has returned to the volcano, and there’s nothing more to worry about.
Just when everything seemed to have settled, the Grand Sorceress Fatina shows up before Cantil. What is she doing on Jiffon Island? We bring you the latest episode updates of this anime.
Episode 7 Preview & Speculation
Episode 7 will reveal Fatina’s intention behind showing up at the remotely popular Jiffon Island. The emergence of the fire-breathing dragon from the volcano must have caught her attention.
She will probably be the one to save Cantil from starving to death in the middle of the sea. Thus, there’s nothing to worry about Cantil’s safety; I don’t think that he will die any time soon.
Episode 7 Release Date
1. Is I’m Standing on a Million Lives on Break This Week?
Episode 7 of I’m Standing on a Million will be released as per schedule. No such delay has been announced.
Episode 6 Recap
In Episode 6, the dragon keeps drawing out life force from everyone on the island. The warriors try their best to defeat the creature, but they are no match to it.
Yuusuke accidentally comes across the Dragon Bishop, who revived the dragon of the mountains after centuries. However, he is so strong that Yuusuke can barely lay a finger on him.
With no other option left, Yuusuke retreats to the temple and lures him to a trap. While the Bishop is busy dealing with Yuusuke, another warrior sneaks behind him and slices his right arm.
Later, the warriors notice hexagonal marks throughout the island, thereby concluding that these markings are responsible for summoning the Dragon. So, they keep erasing them one after another, and the Dragon returns back to the volcano.
Just when they are about to celebrate their victory, the tragic news of Thanzamar’s death breaks everyone. He fought the orcs gallantly and sacrificed his life trying to keep the boat away from the lava.
Meanwhile, General Cantil is still lost in the sea, with absolutely no hope of survival. To his surprise, Grand Sorceress Fatina shows up before him and saves him from a dragon that was flying around.
What is someone as strong as Fatina doing at a place like Jiffon? Is she concerned about the recently occurred events on the island? We have to wait for the next episode to find that out.
