Being One of The Boys Costs Mother’s Milk His Family

The anti-superhero business is not meant for everyone, and certainly not for Monique who has finally let go of her beau Mother’s Milk AKA Marvin. The Boys S3 premiered with three episodes packed with shocking reveals, one of them being that Monique and Mother’s Milk are no longer together.

So why did Monique decide to call it quits?

In The Boys S3, Monique divorces Mother’s Milk because of his continued involvement with The Boys. She has shown her disapproval for the organization since S1.

If you remember, even back in S1 we were acquainted with a Mother’s Milk who had left The Boys and had to be convinced to be rejoin, after the group kills Translucent.

Monique is not at all happy about this and with good reason — During that season itself, Monique and her daughter Janine finding themselves incurring the wrath of Homelander and Black Noir.

It seems like two seasons worth of being wary, angry and exhausted have finally caught up with her. We find out that Monique and MM are no longer married in S3. Their supposed divorce takes place off-screen.

There’s only so much a wife can take after constantly pleading with her husband to not get involved in life-threatening missions.

Will Monique and Mother’s Milk get back together?

Monique may be out of Mother’s Milk’s life, but she is not out of The Boys. She appears in S3 with her new boyfriend, Todd. I can say without a doubt that none of us like him, especially not after his enthusiasm for Homelander’s speech.

Whether Monique will realize Todd is trouble is yet unknown. But I’m willing to bet that it may help to paint Mother’s Milk in a better light by contrast. Still, there is no surety that the two will get back together.

What I must highlight that despite being very family-oriented, MM’s decision to continue being with The Boys is proof that his revenge against Vought is worth all the sacrifices, including letting go of his wife and daughter.

About The Boys

The Boys is an American satirical superhero streaming television series developed by Eric Kripke for Prime Video. Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which was originally published by DC Comics under their Wildstorm imprint before moving to Dynamite Entertainment, it follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities.

The show is a satirical take on the superhero genre and showcases a world where superheroes are corporatized and controlled by companies. What happens when these superheroes step out of line and rub some boys the wrong way, is the story.
