It’s time to welcome back Boba Fett’s partner in crime, Fennec Shand! As revealed in the Book of Boba Fett’s teaser, her new title is the “Master Assassin.”
Played by Ming-Na Wen, Shand was first introduced in The Mandalorian’s Chapter 5: The Gunslinger. She’s made quite the reputation for being a skilled mercenary working for many criminal syndicates, including the Hutts.
In this same episode, she is hunted down by Toro Calican (aided by Din Djarin), who shoots her dead so he can become a part of the coveted Bounty Hunter’s Guild. But later, in Chapter 14, it is revealed that Boba Fett rescues Shand and helps her rehabilitate using cybernetics.
Indebted to him, Shand will now join him in his newest exploits. Watch The Book of Boba Fett teaser:
In the clip, Shand shows off her prowess fighting off some of Fett’s enemies. In her own words, as Fett’s right-hand person, she has to “keep an eye on everything,” as war could break out any day.
In The Book of Boba Fett, the two return to Tatooine after retrieving Fett’s suit from the Mandalorians and working on a mission where they mutually help each other out.
Now Fett and Shand will try to establish their authority on Tatooine by overthrowing the forces of Jabba the Hutt. Their clash could be the “war” that Shand warns about in the teaser.
Not much is known about Shand’s personal history but I’m hoping The Book of Boba Fett will change that. Many fans have enjoyed Wen’s brief (but badass) appearances in The Mandalorian and can’t wait to see more dept brought into the character!

As for Boba Fett himself, the show will also explore his life between The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and The Mandalorian season 2.
A standalone movie focused on Fett had been long in the making. But seeing how well The Mandalorian was received, a show for Fett is much more befitting to do his character justice.
The wait is almost over! The Book of Boba Fett will debut on Disney+ tomorrow, December 29.
